What money? I can barely afford to buy clothes made in Guatemala and Costa Rica.

Why shouldn’t he rant and rave about them moving their operations to Mexico? It has put more Americans out of work. DUH!

When he buys his garments from Mexico, isn't he "putting Americans out of work"?

I don't blame him for doing so, but he's being hypocritical when he attacks Ford and Nabisco.

I agree about taxes. And they have to be reduced to help our companies be more competitive. I would also like to see tariffs or outright bans on importation of goods from other countries that employ child or slave labor. I would gladly pay more to not support such dirty practices.

I don’t see how it’s Trump fault that clothes aren’t manufactured in America.

Very few things are.

And others in total or in part.......

How about... having the products made in America to start with? That “practice what you preach” thing...

"My shoes, my socks, my shirts, my pants - all are made in the U.S. You just have to be willing to put your money where your mouth is. "

The trick there is finding a company that doesn't hire Illegals, like American Apparel does.

I don’t blame Trump for the fact that his ties were made in China. He’s addressed this before, by noting that as a businessman, he didn’t like it but it was the only logical move. But, I do wish he would apply that same argument to companies like Nabisco that are moving to Mexico for the same reasons he had his ties made in China. The objective should not only be to improve our trade deals with other countries, but also to improve the business climate in our own country so that it will make economic sense for businesses to stay here.

"How about... having the products made in America to start with? That “practice what you preach” thing..."

That's a money losing proposition under the current rules. you try to make in America, and your competition produces in China or Mexico, and they will be able to undercut you on price big time.

‘’American manufactured clothing costs 4-10X more.’’

Maybe so, but you get what you pay for. When clothing lines move overseas, the quality sinks like a stone- fabric, construction, fit- everything. And then you can’t get what you once had & loved at any price- because they don’t make it anymore. And there’s nothing coming to replace it but *overpriced* cheap foreign made crap.

This supports what Trump has been saying that Mexico has won the trade wars and it is about time he is given a chance to let America win!

US companies have been forced out of business or forced to move to places like Mexico by corrupt trade deals that don’t favor the USA.

Not at all. My Wrangler jeans and Carhartt shorts and shirts are very good quality in every respect.

"Besides, it's brutally hard work that pays very little. "

Ahhh, Americans won't do the work….Got it. When I was a kid my grandmother and aunt sewed upholstery for Sears as independent contractors. I worked on local farms during the summer like just about my whole high school football team.

Americans won't do the work………..please.
