I guess your definition of a major storm depends on whether it hits your area or another location. Ike was a very major storm if you happened to live on the Bolivar Peninsula or Galveston.
I live in Spring, North of Houston. Ike did major damage to my house! I’m over an hour’s drive North of Galveston! Ike cut a swath all the way to Ohio!!
