Trump reignites Megyn Kelly feud with 'bimbo' tweet
The Hill ^ | 8/24/15 | N.Zimmerman

Posted on 08/24/2015 8:17:26 PM PDT by VinL

Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly returned Monday night to host The Kelly File following a 10-day vacation, but her extended R & R seemed to have no relaxing effect on her loudest critic: Donald Trump.

In a series of late-night tweets, Trump accused Kelly of being “off her game,” and suggested she “must have had a terrible vacation” because she was “afraid to confront” her guest, Dr. Cornel West, on the subject of immigration.

Trump followed up his tweets with a couple of retweets from supporters who called Kelly a “bimbo” and her show “a waste of an hour on Fox.”

“The bimbo back [sic] in town,” said one tweet, which Trump reposted into his own timeline. “I hope not for long."

The Republican front-runner’s infamous feud with Kelly -- sparked in the aftermath of the first GOP debate, which Kelly co-moderated — reached a crescendo shortly before her temporary leave of absence, when Trump made a comment appearing to reference menstruation as a reason for a line of questioning he believed was unfair.

Trump went on to suggest several times that Kelly’s vacation was ordered by higher-ups at the news station as a result of the fallout from their post-debate friction.

Fox News pushed back on those claims, saying the time off was scheduled months in advance.

Unfazed, Trump repeated his allegation tonight on Twitter.

"I liked The Kelly File much better without @megynkelly,” the businessman tweeted. "Perhaps she could take another eleven day unscheduled vacation!"

They're the ones who are going to need cases of Maalox; not I.

And since there doesn't appear to be a "ceiling" for Trump, I just shake my head at the naysayers and post facts.

You’re right and I retract the concern remark if you care. He does love a good fight and its a breath of fresh air as far as I’m concerned.

Sorry...I realized that after I had hit the post button.

They're going to need something MUCH stronger than Maalox and soon!

Yes, the primaries are still months away, but nobody is attracting as diverse probable voters as Trump is. And even once the field gets whittled down, I do not see him losing.

What's with all the new 2014 and 2015 seminar posters?
Something weird is happening all of a sudden and I can't help thinking that Trump is the new Unemployed Uselessly Educated GOPe strategy corps target.
I wonder how much they're paying? It's obviously not enough, judging by the quality.

I don’t think Ted Cruz supporters are welcome over at DU, so I guess I’ll have to stay here and support an actual conservative candidate (some might say a conservative statesman, even).

DU does love liberal blowhards, though. So perhaps Trump is right up their alley?

Jim Robinson has (rightly) supported Trump’s statements on immigration.

I don’t recall seeing Mr. Robinson praising Trump’s petty Twitter feuds...

He also isn’t supporting all of the worst of the anti-Trump posts either and has posted about that.

He is pulling from across the boards in this country and I don’t see it letting up.

Don’t just leave us hanging. Please explain why.

Not gonna happen. These paid propagandists don't have a clue what they are talking about. But a buck is a buck, I guess.

I concur completely.

Unfortunately, the naysayers won't/can't see the forest for the trees.

Can you imagine Trump granting blanket amnesty to thousands of illegals, and doing it because he believed what the lying opposition party said they'd do (and not live up to their end of the bargain)?

Now that's got to hurt.
This from the "trust and verify" President.

Didn't turn out that well, did it.

We can accurately view that as the genesis of the ginormous illegal alien problem of today, as much as I admire Reagan.

Trump's mean-spiritedness and pettiness is starting to wear a little thin with me.

I'd like to see how far he can go, but he's going to have to up his game significantly if he wants to go the distance.

Trump's candidacy shouldn't be about ego and personal vendettas. It should be about policies which are needed to "make America great again".

IMHO, Trump's appeal could be much wider if he was a little more thoughtful.

Trump will eventually falter if he doesn't start taking his candidacy more seriously, and stop being petty.

I've been in the Cruz camp for the most part, despite my reservations about some of his positions, but I've also been a fan of Trump here in the early going.

But as I've said, despite Trump's appeal, if he wants to win anything more than the GOP nomination, he's flat out going to have to clean up his act. People will overlook his idiosyncrasies to a certain point, but if he continues to come off as mean-spirited, his appeal will definitely fade.

It's time for Trump to realize that a Presidential candidacy isn't just a one-man show. He needs to start surrounding himself with people who can give him good advice and help him soften his image, because he's just coming off as too harsh in some instances, and he can't keep doing that if he wants to win the general election. Winning the GOP nomination is only the first step.

Neal Boortz ‏@Talkmaster 1h1 hour ago @realDonaldTrump Let it go you pig

I absolutely loathe Boortz. He is contemptible.

I guarantee is there was an election between Hillary and Palin Boortz would not hesitate to endorse Clinton. That's how F..ed up in the head is this cretin.

Boortz is a very disturbed human being.

I think this whole twitter spat with Megyn Kelly is a publicity stunt for his next appearance on her show.
Watch. It’s just free publcity for the Richest celebrity candidate Trump, every day, night after night. Yep.
Trump, Trump , Trump until the ratings start to slip.
Is it sustainable?

Everything you say makes sense, but I have no opinion, no prognostication, on what will unfold, nor how it will unfold. The times we are in are are utterly chaotic, without parallel in the previous century. Trump’s fortune can withstand the onslaught of the Soros-Spielberg-GOPe-Wall Street juggernaut, which is why he is riding high. Is it specifically him, and nobody else, who can defeat them just now? I think that a possibility. Is he a Constitutional Conservative statesman in the mold of the great men of our Republic, or even like Cruz appears to be? It doesn’t appear so. Yet the lingering, over-riding question that won’t go away is this: If Trump were not in the race, what would stop the ESTABLISHMENT?

Trump is so undignified and petty that the whole “he’s just pushing back against his attackers” story isn’t going to hold together.
