Good manners is the lubricant that keeps a healthy society (or subculture) functioning smoothly and conflict free.
In California it's the invading uneducated from south of the border and a domestic subculture.
In France (I am familiar only with Paris) it is the equivalent invaders from across the Mediterranean and from other muslim countries.
After spending an hour or so this morning at our local Costco, where 80% of the customers wandering the store were Mexicans without the most rudimentary grasp of what children are presumably taught before age 10 : if you are 70 years old and moving at one fourth the speed along aisles, you probably shouldn't be using the middle of aisles that are laid out to accommodate two carts side by side.
If you have invited your entire extended family to go shopping with you, you probably shouldn't be meandering along the widest aisles side by side, stopping randomly as a unit.
You also probably should not stop as a group at the free food sample tables throughout the store. Your cute kids should not be allowed to run around loose rummaging through merchandise and running into other shoppers.
Moving on to the outdoors, crossing a street at a signalized intersection is not a useful opportunity to assert your need for "respect," by moving as slowly as possible regardless of the color of the signal.
Now imagine those same cultures actually driving a ton and a half of metal. The shoulder is NOT a lane you use for exiting, a mile before the actual exit...
The list goes on and on, and rather than insist of a minimum level of courtesy and common sense, the room temperature IQ crowd is inventing an endless litany of words to assert their special status in society : "microaggression, forbidden words, imaginary insults, sociopathological feelings of inadequacy, etc.
If violence is the solution, it is just a matter of time before they get it.
