Paul Krugman is so frustrated by the lack of support for another round of stimulus spending that he's now calling for a fake alien invasion of the United States to spur a World War II-style defense buildup.

How about massive tax cuts (like the Kennedy and Reagan tax cuts), cut federal regulations, release goverment land back to the States, reign in government spending, the shrinking, consolidation and elimination of federal departments, and set up REAL free markets Paul where all countries are all playing by the same rules instead of the current rigged Trade deals that you and your Keynesian like Paul?
Debt needs to be DESTROYED, not promoted. Debt is slavery, and of course Krugman the acolyte of Orwellianism will die defending it.
Don’t we already have a real alien invasion?
Krugman...you’re an idiot.
Well, Dorkbama the Muslim took the wind outta the Nobel Peace prize.
Krugman proved that math has been removed from the Nobel Economics prize requirements.
We’ll know if the low IQ sickness has metastasized to the Physics prize if a climate change cheater/cretin/math-flunkee gets an awardin that area.
I am offering to break the windows in Paul Krugman’s house every night to spur the economy. A lot cheaper than an alien invasion.
After WWII the Soviets ramped up war spending within their government controlled economy and it bankrupted them.
Our economy grew on WWII production only because Roosevelt realized he could not continue to impoverish the US with his policies AND save his precious Stalin at the same time. Once the government eased it’s stranglehold we bounced back with a vengeance.
How many times do you have to be demonstrably wrong before you’re no longer considered an “expert” in something?
Debt eventually gets to the point where if people get desperate enough to pay it, people might support huge taxes on wealth to pay it off. This is what Krugman wants. He wants to force redistribution of wealth by getting the debt so high that people get desperate enough to do anything to pay it off.
Too many Republicans believe this nonsense.
WWII didn’t end the Depression. It made it worse. Production rose, unemployment fell, but Americans were MORE impoverished than they were before the war. Saying the economy grew is Soviet economics.
Prosperity only came with demobilization.

Socialism Is Legal Plunder - Bastiat
6. But the grand nostrum will be a public debt...
7. It must not be forgotten that the members of the legislative body are to have a deep stake in the game. This is an essential point, and happily is attended with no difficulty. A sufficient number, properly disposed, can alternately legislate and speculate, and speculate and legislate, and buy and sell, and sell and buy, until a due portion of the property of their constituents has passed into their hands to give them an interest against their constituents
10. “Divide and govern”
11. As soon as sufficient progress in the intended change shall have been made, and the public mind duly prepared according to the rules already laid down, it will be proper to venture on another and a bolder step toward a removal of the constitutional landmarks.

Debates in the House of Representatives on the First Report on Public Credit 918 February 1790
James Jackson (Ga.)
But it is doubted with me whether a permanent funded debt is beneficial or not to any country.
The same effect must be produced that has taken place in other nations; it must either bring on a national bankruptcy or annihilate her existence as an independent empire. Hence I contend, sir, that a funding system, in this country, will be highly dangerous to the welfare of the republic; it may, for a moment, raise our credit and increase the circulation, by multiplying a new species of currency; but it must, in times afterward, settle upon our posterity a burthen which they can neither bear nor relieve themselves from. It will establish a precedent in America that may, and in all probability will, be pursued by the sovereign authority until it brings upon us that ruin which it has never failed to bring, or is inevitably bringing, upon all the nations of the earth who have had the temerity to make the experiment.

Can I join you? That would give me an odd sense of satisfaction, sigh.
This idea will be soundly rejected on FR till Trump endorses it.
I wonder if Krugman is in massive debt personally. Bet he isn’t. Think about that.
