I thought Jews could touch pigs, just not eat pork This would also work for vegetarians, although there are some of those I wouldn’t mind keeping out of the US. ;-)

Orthodox Jews cannot touch pigs. They are unclean. Reform Jews love the stuff (witness participation in Chinese restaurants), conservative Jews (on average) don't keep Kosher execept during Holy days, and they feel bad about it.
