At least with the latter they can't do that with Donald Trump. He is and has for many years been guaranteed front page news fodder. He has been welcomed into millions of American homes as a superlative master (the one who instructs an "apprentice") of business and so the usual tactic of creating a false image of someone through a coordinated media drumbeat (Palin-Ignorant, Romney-Mean, Cruz-Crazy) won't work. In fact, when they try the cognitive dissonance just makes him stronger and themselves weaker. He states in plain American English what the vast majority of Americans have for years been thinking but have not until now had an opportunity to vote for. Reagan tapped the same wellspring of suppressed and ignored common belief in 1980, to the same gob smacked expressions you see today on NBCBSABCMSNBCFOX.
Trump isn't my candidate of choice. I'm conservative in an older sense that includes wanting a president who knows the law inside and out so he can know how to correctly dismantle and fix the machine of government. But it is entertaining to watch those who consider themselves master manipulators of our opinions and votes burst into flames bashing their pointy little heads against the walls of Castle Trump.
Love the lie built into the premise, that Trump’s comments were directed at “immigrants” the weren’t. They were directed at ILLEGALImmigrants, IO
