Personally, all those "feelers" for Biden, Warren and even Al Gore to run for the 2016 Democratic Presidential nomination tells us that the Democratic Party clearly knows that Hillary Clinton is seriously damaged goods. More and more revelations are coming out about her, and at the rate things are going, she could be gone by the Vernal Equinox of this year (23 September 2015).

This is why the very idea of drafting California Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom isn't such a far-fetched idea. Newsom has three things going for him:

1. He has real executive-level political experience by being Mayor of San Francisco (with its crazy politics!) and now Lt. Governor of California.
2. He was on the cutting edge of the same-sex marriage issue, and that makes him very popular on the Left.
3. He's only 47 years old and photogenic, which avoids the age issue that may plague Hillary Clinton and would make him very appealing to younger voters.

Watch for such a move happening if Hillary does drop out.

The other big joke is the “Justice” Department, FBI and State Department colluding to protect Hillary.

They should be ashamed of themselves. The darkest chapter in our justice system in American history.

Law has become irrelevant and has bowed to raw power and intimidation (the Chicago Way?)

Yeah. Fox News upped Hillary’s number to 900 for the Vegas appearance and said Trump only had 15,000 in Mobile.

Of course the drivebys always inflate Colonel Bernie Sanders numbers but I’m afraid their efforts to lessen Trump is a big fail.

The LIV may believe them, but I do think more people are paying attention than they think and this will be their soft underbelly.

Let them continue on the path they’ve made for themselves...

Huh. I wonder if he’s giving them one Sunday morning, in-studio appearance a week now—since he broke the ice last week.

Actually, Corey L’s appearance could be more interesting, since we already mostly know what Trump is going to say.

The other networks? They’ll be reduced to asking other candidates what they think about Trump.

Morning AB, All…..

Beautiful day this morning in the swamps.

I am still amused by the Trump campaign and hope he keeps it up. I don’t think Hillary is going to survive the email scandal but hey, I’m thinking she’s got the goods on a whole lot of people, including Obama.

As always, thank you AB for doing this thread.

Will be watching for yon commenters to enlighten me.

Interesting....

For sure Biden....man I giggle just thinking about him running for President. Al Gore?

The Democrats are desperate aren’t they?

But Gavin Newsome....that would be quite an interesting election. The Gays love him.

Intriguing notion.

I hear they’re going to tout Joe Biden today. Everybody pay attention.

I tracked some of thr “You Tube” videos of the “Trump” Mobile, AL rally, but gave up because ther are so many of them. My last count was over 1,000,000 viewers....but that did not even scatch the surface. When the Cable News viewer numbers surface I am guessing they will be between 10-15 million viewers. We shall see shortly!!!

Maybe. But everyone else has the goods on Hillary--and her sordid track record dates back to the time of the Watergate hearings, of all things. The only reasons why Bill Clinton got a second term was 1) he knew how to "charm" the public and the MSM to support him and 2) the Republicans fielded a too-old candidate in Bob Dole in 1996.

Law has become irrelevant and has bowed to raw power and intimidation (the Chicago Way?)

If that be the case, remind me WHY we should then follow the law? Pay our taxes? Turn in or register our guns? Follow their stupid politically correct mandates? Obey their EPA mandates? Just to name a few?

The law is for all of us, or none of us.

They may very well find that their fate "hangs" from a lamppost.

Newsom would be a formidable candidate because many in the LGBT community have DEEP pockets of financial resources to support him politically, especially since he was on the cutting edge of the same-sex marriage issue. And if you look from this picture from Wikipedia:

He has the photogenic looks to attract a lot of younger voters, too.

The Democratic Party--spoiled by the relative youth of Barack Obama--needs a younger candidate for 2016 (they can't wait till 2020 for either Julian or Joaquin Castro from Texas).

We know him from our CA days.He has been talking about being President for years. Kimberly Guilfoyle dumped him
Can’t keep his zipper closed. Perfect Dem candidate!

From Wiki:

Newsom was baptized and reared Roman Catholic. He describes himself as an “Irish Catholic rebel...in some respects, but one that still has tremendous admiration for the Church and very strong faith.” When asked about the current state of the Catholic Church, he said the church was in crisis. Newsom said he stays with the Church because of his “strong connection to a greater purpose, and ... higher being ...” Newsom identifies himself as a practicing Catholic,[74] stating that he has a “strong sense of faith that is perennial: day in and day out.”[12]

In December 2001, Newsom married Kimberly Guilfoyle, a former San Francisco prosecutor and legal commentator for Court TV, CNN, and MSNBC and who is now a prominent personality on Fox News Channel. The couple married at Saint Ignatius Catholic Church on the campus of the University of San Francisco, where Guilfoyle attended law school. The couple appeared in the September 2004 issue of Harper’s Bazaar, a fashion magazine, in a spread of them at the Getty mansion with the title the “New Kennedys.”[3][75] In January 2005, they jointly filed for divorce, citing “difficulties due to their careers on opposite coasts.”[76]

In 2005, Newsom was selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.[77]

In January 2007, it was revealed that Newsom had had a romantic relationship in mid-2005 with Ruby Rippey-Tourk, the wife of his former deputy chief of staff and then campaign manager, Alex Tourk.[78] Tourk filed for divorce shortly after the revelation and left Newsom’s campaign and administration. Newsom’s affair with Rippey-Tourk[79] impacted his popularity with male voters, who viewed his indiscretions as a betrayal of a close friend and ally.[80]

Newsom announced in February 2007 that he would seek treatment for alcohol abuse.[81]

In September 2006, Newsom began dating actress Jennifer Siebel after being set up for a blind date by a mutual friend, Kathy Wilsey.[82] In December 2007 their engagement was announced,[83][84] and they were married in Stevensville, Montana, in July 2008.[85] In September 2009, Siebel gave birth to a girl, Montana Tessa Newsom.[86] Siebel gave birth to a son, Hunter Siebel Newsom, on June 12, 2011. Daughter Brooklynn was born July 3, 2013.[87]

In 2012, Newsom and his family moved out of San Francisco and bought a house in Kentfield, California. The house is a mid-century home on 1.38 acres. It also hosts direct views of Mount Tamalpais. Newsom bought it for $2.145 million.[88]
