Somewhat right, especially about the decline of parties and the rise of non-party and the rise of other structures. I've been talking about this re: Trump for months. But the Clintons do not have the social media presence Mead says---about one third are just bought.

Again, this is why Trump is the guy to beat her. He doesn't need the bundlers and isn't beholden to foreign interests. Moreover he badly beats her on social media and, despite their criminal operation, buries them in $$.

No one else on our side comes close.

Somewhat right, especially about the decline of parties and the rise of . . . other structures.
First, there are the unintended consequences of the dysfunctional campaign finance “reforms” over the past thirty years that gutted traditional party organizations while empowering billionaires.
I joined the late, lamented Congressman Billybob in longing for the day when "the dysfunctional campaign finance “reforms” over the past thirty years” were declared unconstitutional root and branch:
Second, there is the synergy created by the intersection of the Power Couple and the Twenty-second Amendment, which limited Presidents to two terms.
Third, the Foundation vehicle allows the Clintons to attract enormous sums of money from foreign as well as domestic donors.
Under Article 1 Section 9, "No title of nobility shall be granted by the United States: and no person holding any office of profit or trust under them, shall, without the consent of the Congress, accept of any present, emolument, office, or title, of any kind whatever, from any king, prince, or foreign state.” Presumably, the Foundation is a money laundering device.

If the Clintons have a joint checking account, any money paid to him is accessible to her. And he, they, even have Secret Service protection and a presidential pension - arguably, they are still government officials in some sense, because of that. That argument could be used to say that Hillary already has been, in a very real sense, POTUS.

Fourth, the Clintons have captured the power of networks. Like Facebook, the Clinton network is powerful because almost everyone is part of it. Since 1992, when the Clintons stormed out of Arkansas to take the White House, they have been at the center of world power and fame. Everybody who is anybody knows them or knows of them. They can introduce anybody to anybody
