interesting. I did not know any (alleged) foodstuffs could NOT be purchased with food stamps or whatever. If I were the manager in charge of a firm whose food product was not ‘eligible’ for purchase with food stamps, I’d probably be lobbying the heck out of Congress to get it Okayed, too.

ps: WWMS? (what would Moochelle say?)

I would have paid for the Oreo’s at the market price when they were made in America. Now I won’t buy them at all. Nabisco made their choice and I made mine. I hope President Trump teaches them a lesson.

Trump failed to mention that Ford leaving the US is due to several issues:

1. Unions.

2. Taxes

3. EPA Regs

4. Lawsuits and other assorted legal BS

5. The lack of intelligence of the American worker. (before you tough guys go off, remember why Toyota left Ohio and went to Canada--They did not want to spend the money to dumb down the place to accomodate the stupid workers!)

Trump taxing or fining them is the wrong solution to the problem. I say this as someone that would not mind a Trump/Cruz ticket.

“Blame Congress”

Fair enough. But who strongly influences, even strongarms, Congress time and again to make/adjust policy? Big business and the Chamber of Commerce.

They could have easily lowered or eliminated those sugar tariffs if they wanted to long ago. The question is: why was it (apparently) never a priority? Why was pushing for open borders and amnesty more important to them (including the WSJ) than corporate tax relief?

You really need to vette your sources before posting.>

Lol, you need to read the link associated with a post before going off on wild and elongated tangents.

The story made clear that there were still several Hershey's plants in the US. I also knew that from reading articles when the announcement was first made. That article is from a union point of view, but it is also accurate in what Hershey moved and what remains in the US.

Reese Butter cups are still made in Pennsylvania.

And Hershey, which BCTGM's predecessor unions first organized during World War II, now has only two unionized plants in the U.S., one in Hershey and the other, in Hazelton, Penn., with the United Food and Commercial Workers. There's even a non-union Hershey's plant in Hershey, making Reese's peanut butter cups. "But at least at that plant, they kept wages at par with wages in our plants," Clark adds.

You know things are bad when American workers fear losing their jobs to outsourcing in order for the company to employ cheap laborers.

It's been happening for years. Where has this guy been?

You wear your economic ignorance on your sleeve.

Lol, brilliant analysis and refutation. And if you don't think cheap labor is the main reason plants leave the US for cheap labor nations, then you have ignorance crawling all over you, up and down and all around.

To hell with corporate America. Ever since big-business started pushing amnesty and promoting the homo agenda, I’ve done all I could to stop purchasing their products. They’ve become nothing less than an enemy within, spitting in the face of everything I believe and cherish. I instead buy small, local, or mom-and-pop items. Cookies, potato chips, pies, barbecue sauce, whatever. Anything and everything. I’ve gotten to the point where at least 80-to-90% of my purchases are decidedly small-business product.

I watched CNN last night because Fox was all reruns. They had so called GOP pundits going crazy with hatred towards Trump.

When the left and RINOs both hate the same man you know he is doing something right.

These pundits are nothing more than sellouts hired by the Chamber of Commerce.

I guarantee if Jeb isn’t the nominee they will vote for Hillary. I have no doubt about that.

Yeah, love that ad.

I once heard a great story about oreos but have not ever tried to confirm it.

Supposedly, researchers were observing Chimpanzees in the wild and trying not interfere with them. The chimps got ahold of a bag of oreos from a backpack that was accidentally left in the open. The researchers watched (& maybe recorded) the chimps with the oreos. They examined the oreos and almost immediately twisted the oreos open and licked the cream.

If it’s true, it’s a great story.

Oreos are an extremely poor substitute for Hydrox cookies.”

They may be. Never had a Hydrox and kids love so sign the Oh, Oh, Oreos song. Somehow I can’t imaging a song like that with the word Hydrox!

No different than lobster and filet mignon.

But, why should America spend more to buy Oreos for food needy people? About 50 million households on foodstamps, Oreo’s about $3 a pack, and one pack a month equals 1,800,000,000 gross a year. What if it’s a pack a week?

That’s some big government benefit. And you know that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Hands in our pockets.

Oreo is an offensive term. They should be called anchor cookies.

Many of our favorite candy bars are also now being made in Mexico. I don’t buy candy anymore because of that.

When Hershey moved their production to Mexico, I was not aware of it.

However, the next bag of dark chocolate chips [”Hershey’s Special Dark”] made me sick as a dog.

Sometime during that epic nausea [and worse] I discovered they’d been made in Mexico.

And we all know how sanitary Mexico is.

Have not eaten anything Hershey, since.

Sugar is bad for you. It makes you fat. It gives you heart attacks.

So are artificial sweeteners.

The moral of the story: nothing is good for you. You end up dead.

Interesting. Chimps are ‘stuff’ fans. Do they even still make the Double Stuff version ? My dad made sure those were always in the house. Too much stuff more my delicate palette.
