Federal judge orders Obama administration to release detained mothers and children

A federal judge ruled late Friday night that the Obama administration has just over two months to begin releasing hundreds of migrant mothers and children who have been locked up in government family detention centers as they await their asylum hearings.

In a 15-page ruling that quoted Mahatma Gandhi, U.S. District Judge Dolly Gee in Central California delivered a scolding rebuke of the government's expanded use of family detention centers. But she also granted the government one of its key requests for additional time – as much as 20 days - to continue to hold mothers and children under extenuating circumstances like last year's surge of nearly 70,000 Central American families into the United States.

Do you think she might be a little prejudiced to be ruling on this case?

I think Obama isn’t disappointed in the decision. I’m pretty sure the President has near unlimited authority to detain illegal aliens.

Why not just set bail amounts for release? I know 90% of them probably will not be able to pay, but many of them are flight risks.

In a 15-page ruling that quoted Mahatma Gandhi...

So, we now base our laws on what Gandi said, eh?

I’d hand them a postcard with the Judge’s residence address on it saying free housing and food for as long as you wish. Swimming pool is around back, no clothes while on the pool please.

Release them at the border — facing south.

And tell them to start walking.

This was win for Obama. He can now release them into neighboorhoods without deporting them.

Stupid me. I was unaware that Mahatma Gandhi was a constitutional scholar.

We aren’t going to solve any problem in this country until we start to impeach judges. We have got to get rid of the ideologically driven leftists that infest our courts.

In a 15-page ruling that quoted Mahatma Gandhi,

No just what in the wide wide world of sports does Gandhi have to do with US law and illegal immigrants... These Federal Judges are seriously out of control of late. Better shape up judges.............
