911 and the tech bubble bust had a lot to do with the latter, and the deficit was being paid off until Americans voted for change and replaced the GOP controlled Congress with a Dem controlled Congress in 2007.
Other than that, I agree. I'll add that his allowing the Dems to walk all over him, even when he had clear voter mandates, had a lot to do with the GOP losing Congress and the White House.
