I'm thinking Trump/Cruz 2016 would be a very, very powerful ticket

Trump/Cruz ticket. Trump retires after a few years and hands the reigns over to Cruz

I favor a Trump/Cruz ticket too, but fully expect Trump to serve for a full eight years. There's no way he's going to step away from the greatest leadership perch in the world after having been The Boss for most of his life. It's what he does. He runs things, and doesn't turn anything over to an underling until he's done what he came to do.

I think Cruz is extremely presidential, but if this is the means to get him after a run as VP, I’m all for it.

I have no idea what you refer to. Do you have a link?

Here are excerpts of a Carly Fiorina Speech: "There was once a civilisation" [why the British spelling?]in which she effusively praises Islam and Muslims.

The Hewlett-Packard website carries the transcript of a speech by Carly Fiorina, Chief Executive of the company from 1999 to 2005:

"There was once a civilization that was the greatest in the world.

It was able to create a continental super-state that stretched from ocean to ocean, and from northern climes to tropics and deserts. Within its dominion lived hundreds of millions of people, of different creeds and ethnic origins.

One of its languages became the universal language of much of the world, the bridge between the peoples of a hundred lands. Its armies were made up of people of many nationalities, and its military protection allowed a degree of peace and prosperity that had never been known. The reach of this civilization’s commerce extended from Latin America to China, and everywhere in between.

And this civilization was driven more than anything, by invention. Its architects designed buildings that defied gravity. Its mathematicians created the algebra and algorithms that would enable the building of computers, and the creation of encryption. Its doctors examined the human body, and found new cures for disease. Its astronomers looked into the heavens, named the stars, and paved the way for space travel and exploration.

Its writers created thousands of stories. Stories of courage, romance and magic. Its poets wrote of love, when others before them were too steeped in fear to think of such things.

When other nations were afraid of ideas, this civilization thrived on them, and kept them alive. When censors threatened to wipe out knowledge from past civilizations, this civilization kept the knowledge alive, and passed it on to others.

While modern Western civilization shares many of these traits, the civilization I’m talking about was the Islamic world from the year 800 to 1600, which included the Ottoman Empire and the courts of Baghdad, Damascus and Cairo, and enlightened rulers like Suleiman the Magnificent.

Although we are often unaware of our indebtedness to this other civilization, its gifts are very much a part of our heritage. The technology industry would not exist without the contributions of Arab mathematicians. Sufi poet-philosophers like Rumi challenged our notions of self and truth. Leaders like Suleiman contributed to our notions of tolerance and civic leadership."

Trump doesn’t have to worry about a VP “bringing” his home state with him. Not with the immense name recognition he’s got. He’ll be picking a veep for other reasons and I think it will belong to Cruz if he wants it.

Trump is in trouble... He said the great wall of China was built 3000 years ago. It was started 2700 years ago. That 300 years is a campaign killer. / sarc

It sounds like a lot of Cruz supporters are already making concessions because they/you know Cruz has to be on someone else's coattails or he will be OUT.

What's really pathetic is how many big mouth phony conservatives out there calling Trump names( he's not a republican, he's not conservative. ETC.) would have no problem with Cruz holding the hated master's (Trump's) hand.

My, word, to be honest I’m truly amazed you realize just what a voting both is. And when YOU vote, do YOU vote? Do you know how? Do you know the difference in voting for American Idol and voting to have someone who will and possibly have control over every aspect of your life? Think about it, buck-o. Persons such as you are more than likely the same persons who voted this last mistake into the oo - twice. Grow up, get a job and proceed to educate yourself.

Not sure that you understood the friendliness and tongue-in-cheek in my remark. That's what the smiley was for. Even though friendly, the mild insult was intended.

I have grown up, have a job, and have educated myself. Still yet I remain such a vulgar fool, knave, charlatan! N'er yet have I voted for dem nor idol, save for time after time a sheep in sheep's clothing.

Alas! George Will - when did'st thou commence at penning tomes sign'd VKLEE?
