If the North does start a war we will find out what kind a nuke they have. This will tell us what kind of nuke Iran has also since the two countries collaborate.

If I was the North Koreans, it would be tempting to attack knowing that Obama will be out of office in a little of 16 months.

Perhaps South Korea could handle them on their own. But its hard to see Obama coming to the rescue (as it were).

Part of me remembers hearing that during the Clinton years; it was very close; hours I think; of a war starting there.

I recall that too. Luckily, Carter rode to the rescue and saved the NK nuke program. [/s] On the other hand, it could well be that Slick Willy didn’t have the cohones.

.....”Obama’s in office and won’t stop them, and Norks are afraid of Trump”.....

Norks aren’t the only nation leaders afraid of a Trump Presidency. It’s easy to imagine many International have their pants in a knot.

Of course, if NK starts lobbing nukes, both NK and SK may be destroyed.

All the bad guys know they aren’t going to have a friend in the WH much longer.

The whole deterrent concept of having US forces based on the DMZ is that we will come with massive reinforcements (690,000 US Troops!) to counter the North Korean attack, which is expected to be massive and push far into the south before the US arrives in force and beats them back.

That last part is not likely to happen with a traitor in the WH.

This is the Norths last chance to grab the South and its wealth.

I knew this was coming.

OPLAN 5027 Major Theater War - West
Phase 3 US Counterattack
The US plans are based on the belief that the North Koreans would not be successful in consolidating their gains around Seoul and would be pushed back across the DMZ — though the plans assume the North may break through the DMZ in places. A critical issue is strategic warning of unambiguous signs that North Korea is preparing an attack. The warning time has reportedly been shortened from about ten days to about three days as North Korea has covered its military activities.

The United States and ROK have developed as series of plans to counter a potential DPRK attack. The first plan would be a preemptive strike against DPRK positions to counter an emanate North Korean offensive. Likely targets in a preemptive attack are likely to be artillery positions and bombers before they could be activated. Under this plan, the ROK and the United States, both must agree that a DPRK attack is eminent and that a preemptive strike is necessary.

The second plan would go into effect following a North Korea attack. Since the late 90’s the United States has developed OPLAN 5027, which includes defense of the southern peninsula as well as direct assaults against North Korean targets beyond the DMZ and “defeating them in detail”. This “defeat in detail” is said to include provisions to seize Pyongyang and instituted regime change.

In these provisions, the United States would attempt to bring roughly half of its combat force to reinforce forces already in place. According to the 04 December 2000 South Korean Defense Ministry White Paper, the United States would deploy up to 690,000 troops 160 Navy ships and 1,600 aircraft deployed from the U.S. within 90 days on the Korean peninsula if a new war breaks out

"They (NK) will be destroyed if a war starts; but it will cause a lot of damage first."

Well hold on now....if we could just get them to do DC first then maybe we could.....err.....well...never mind.....

The pride of the North Korean Navy is seen undergoing sea trials earlier this year. Leader Kim Jong-un delivered a directive, ¨Do not sink.¨

Two B-2s, with 16 B61-11s would probably finish it off in about 14 hours from the decision. Maybe a couple more to get into night time for the actual time over enemy territory.

Yea, the South would be a mess, but not as much as the North,,, and for the first time in over 60 years, it would be over.

In the early 90s, they were so poor, they had to use oxen to pull their artillery pieces when oil was cheap. I can only imagine how bad it is now. S Korea on the other hand is a very tough and disciplined country

Where do those DPRK generals get their hats....I’m dying to get my hands on one....those hats are so ultra cool....

And underneath those hats the thoughts run...”just one bullet in the back of that little riceball’s head, but how will I survive afterward??”

Kim Jong Un to little Anthony Fremont: “Eat your heart out! You took one little town away, how about an entire country!!? Piker!!!”

Do you see Obama giving that order? I don’t. Unless, it was Israel.

There isn’t much traffic on the Vineyard. It gets backed up on the bridge though.

Osan AB is built on the site where Captain Millet led ...”Battle of Bayonet Hill” bayonet charge ..... may see a replay of that historical event on the same ground......

When I was stationed there I felt like the last chicken dinner in Ethiopia . Trip wire indeed.

Stay Safe !!
