John Kasich On Roe v. Wade: “We Live With The Law Of The Land”
The Federalist ^ | August 20, 2015 | Staff

During a town hall event yesterday in Salem, New Hampshire, Ohio Gov. John Kasich took a question from an attendee about Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court ruling that created a constitutional right to abortion.

Kasich’s answer, which appeared to affirm the court ruling, will likely complicate his bid to woo pro-life voters who are already skeptical of his anti-abortion bona fides.

And none of that “we must obey God rather than men” stuff, of course.

They’re collaborators. Notice how brave they are against conservatives.

I guess he should be praised for being honest. Most Republicans like and pretend that fighting for pro-life values matter to them and do nothing. At least Kasich is honest enough to admit he doesn’t care about the slaughter of millions of innocent children.

Honest or not though I won’t vote for someone in the general or primary who won’t uphold pro-life values.

What if the SCOTUS majority says we no longer have the right to bear arms?

Really. How many bad laws have been repealed or changed? Prohibition was not only a law, it was a Constitutional Amendment. Sherman Silver Purchase Act was a law, repealed. Happens frequently.

Is that why WE have an constitution??
Cause the KING was making laws and not the people...well I know that today looks far different then what the founding fathers or non-female species, were trying to do?

What law? The only law those in power obey is their own desires.

Now, tell me why I should? Force of law? That’s all? That’s a reason for refusal.

Except Roe v. Wade isn't really the law of the land is it?

What IS the law of the land? Well, the Constitution, not the liberal theorists tells us:

This Constitution and the Laws of the United States which shall be made IN PURSUANCE thereof...shall be the supreme Law of the Land (Art VI,Cl 2 - The Supremacy Clause).

If the federal law or decision is not IN PURSUANCE (based on, consistent with) the Constitution, then that federal act is NOT the law of the land. The ONLY basis of federal authority is that which is delegated to the feds (via the states and the people) by the Constitution. Any federal act outside its constitutional authority is invalid and, by definition, tyranny which should be resisted at every level.

Roe v. Wade is not based on any constitutional reasoning or authority for federal action regarding abortion. The feds have NO constitutional authority to interfere with state anti-abortion laws. So Roe v. Wade is not only NOT the law of the land, it is tyranny that should be resisted at every level including state nullification.

“Is Kasich now in front for most spineless GOP POTUS candidate? “

Yes! And he confirms his “position,” when he talks about his 18 years in the Congress!

Interesting. Nobody on this forum ever talks about Trump's views on this. My understanding is that he has always been pro-choice.

Kasich is right, this is the law. Given how Kennedy has been ruling lately, it will likely take two SCOTUS appointments to change it.

Didn't work at Nuremberg, still won't work. Their blood cries out!

Acts 7:19 "This man dealt treacherously with our people, and oppressed our forefathers, making them expose their babies, so that they might not live.

This goes back to the rise of the Progressive movement, and its new-found righteousness, that imposed its “scientific” and “logical” theology of The Rights of Man upon the rest of the nation.

After all, they were only doing all this “for the people’s own good”.

Lord save us from “righteous” do-gooders.

The Romney of 2016..

as Romney said in 1992 “I do not intend to over turn Roe V Wade. Roe V Wade is the “law of the land” and I will sustain a woman’s right to an abortion”

now Kasich has picked up Willard’s abortion gauntlet..

Law? LOL! What a joke! These government hacks don’t have to comply with law. Anyone of else would be in jail had we “wiped” hard drives that was subject to be reviewed.

Laws are for the schmucks, not them.

It will take another supreme court case to over turn RvW

Wrong. It will take a Congress and President to tell the Supremes, hands off.
