How does someone else’s SS number help you get a job? Every time I have had a background check done on me for a job, my age, sex, address etc are all tied to the background check. Are some employees just asking for a number and not connecting it to name, DOB, sex, etc?
If you have anyone’s valid SSN, an unscrupulous employer has a barely legitimate basis for defending themselves against the government: “Hey, he had a valid SSN” is good enough, especially when the Gov want the cash.
Hey, We have a guy in the White house who has a fake SS # [ from a dead man from Ct.]. Didn’t seem to bother a majority of voters![
Maria, 51, came from Mexico City illegally six years ago and bought a counterfeit green card and Social Security card through a friend for $180. She earns $6.50 an hour, and like most of the seven million working illegal immigrants in the United States, she pays income tax and Social Security tax.
