Trump: I Don’t Just Get Military Advice From TV, I Would Have a Policy Team In White House

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump clarified his remarks that he gets military advice from watching television in an interview broadcast on CNN on Wednesday.

After interviewer Chris Cuomo stated, that Trump, “you get a lot of your military analysis from watching television.” Trump responded, “See, I didn’t exactly say that.” He explained that he watches interviews with military experts on other shows and that he reads news sources such as the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and TIME Magazine. Alone with magazines and “lots of other newspapers.”

Imagine a President who actually knows who America’s enemies are, and who stands against them.

What a fantasy, huh?

Not so fast. Trump (or his advisors?) put together some good ideas in his immigration policy. Saying those things and having the temperament to lawfully execute them are two different things. It’s a good message; he’s just not the individual to make it happen.

I’ll interpret that as a joke. You are funny. Did Hillary write that response?

Not a joke. Just a simple breakdown of his thinking process (such as it is) and how he has developed his backtracking technique to make himself look more knowledgeable after his blunders. He knows it'll satisfy the toadies. To wit, RC one's last sentence in post #15.

I’m sorry your preferred candidate isn’t doing as well as you had hoped. I hope you didn’t donate too much money. I know how that burns. You will note I hope that, for the most part, the Trump supporters have refrained from attacking the other candidates (aside from Jeb Bush of course) and their supporters. You will also notice, I hope, that things are moving along absolutely swimmingly in general and conservatives have some very good things to look forward to when Trump wins. Rest assured, if Cruz or Walker or Carson was kicking ass the way Donald Trump is kicking ass, I would be supporting them just as tenaciously. and I have donated money to Cruz btw. The fact is, a decision has been made, a plan is coming together swimingly, and I’m staying on target.

Don’t ask soldiers, Crump. All that you need to know is on TV. Just ask your fans! Remember that you’re the hero—not them!

Mr. Crump, Walter Mitty was a military hero, too. You’ll find all that you need to know in his biography!

You still have liberal Newt Gingrich on your FReeper page as the “Real Change” candidate.

Does that mean you’d go seriously gaga for a Bill Gates presidency? He is also a Washington outsider whose 80+ billion dollar empire trumps Trump’s. Everything you say here about Trump even more describes Gates.

Have you ever said anything positive? You have lambasted many on this forum for their “faulty thinking” posts - reading back thru your posts I could not find anything positive in the first 8 pages and then I got tired of the negative critical tone of what I was reading. However you posted that you started on this forum in 2998, WOW, it must be light years. But, your start date on your home page is 1991.
Donald Trump has nothing on you! LOL / Humor / Just sayin’

There’s a big difference between Bill Gates and Donald Trump and you know it. Again, sorry your man isn’t winning but it should be clear to you at this point which way the wind is blowing and who you ought to be supporting.

It’s more than a year before the election, months before the primaries. No one is winning yet, as not a single vote has been cast. A lot of water yet to pass under the bridge before we get to that point.

All you did in your post was trumpet Trump’s money, and how that proves how smart he is and how capable he is.

By your calculus, Gates is 8 times smarter and 8 times more capable than Trump. Your calculus, not mine.

Are you actually suggesting that Bill Gates isn’t highly intelligent, capable, and competent?

I have a feeling that trump would not try to micromanage the military.

I agree, a major reason Trump is successful is because he does NOT micromanage, he finds the best people possible for whatever task he has in mind, he delegates responsibility and his bottom line is "get the job done, and do it right", and that is EXACTLY how a President becomes successful, and Ronald Reagan demonstrated that principle in spades.

Unfortunately for our Nation, instead of listening to our generals and admirals, Obama forced many of them OUT because they wouldn’t rubber stamp his treasonous policies. In my opinion, the best move that President Trump could make so far as military advisers are concerned, is to invite and urge retired General Peter Pace, USMC and former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs to come out of retirement and either resume the Chairmanship OR to serve as his National Security Adviser. Pace is one of the most moral and honorable men to serve in the past 20 years and his dedication to his men is legendary.

One of the reasons Trump's been so successful is because he can tell 'good people' from bad... It's a skill - a talent... If Trump's President he'll find men like Peter Pace...
