And you are assuming he’s saved because he says so? At what point does continuing in sin (and progressing even) become evidence against his salvation?

To be fair, all I can go by is whether someone has claimed to be a Christian, which then puts that person in a classification of how Christians are to be treated and regarded. I believe it is equally wrong to go against one’s solemn vow and divorce, but we somehow seem to think all these divorced people are Christians and should even be elders in their churches (which the Bible prohibits).

I am not divorced and have never knowingly attended a wedding of someone I respected.

So, what do you condone as being Christian that I don't condone, based on the Bible?

That should read: “I am not divorced and have never knowingly attended a wedding of someone I respected who was previously divorced without that spouse having died.”
