Our county has all those called for jury duty assemble in the jury assembly room at 8:30. We’re counted to make sure we’re all there then sworn in and shown a short movie on jury duty.
Then we wait. Court starts at 10:00AM and the day I was there they only had one courtroom in session.
If they needed a jury then a batch of us would be moved into the courtroom for selection. They didn’t and we were dismissed at 12:00.
So we can use our phones in the jury assembly room.
