Miraculously all 5 of my mother’s brothers who fought in the Pacific against the Japanese came home again..3 of them were coast watchers in the Solomons..

the one brother who went to North Africa and Europe was killed in 1944 and is buried at Bari, Italy...

I am glad for you and your mother’s brothers, your uncles. My only sibling brother was killed on Okinawa. I was on Leyte in a line picking up battle gear the day the Japs surrendered. I along with others were told to go back to our tent. All in line were happy.

My dad was there for the march up the boot. Amazing time.

Even after all these years, learning of your uncles courage is inspiring to everyone who wants freedom.
