I personally know a few socialists. A couple of them are very well off. They don’t live their lives like socialists at all. They always say that “the rich” should pay more. Of course “the rich” are anyone who has more than they have.
Same for the socialist teachers/professors I know. I nag them that they do not conduct their classes like socialists, or all of their students would get the same grade.
They are all elitists who know what’s best for everybody else.

It has always been so. I am rich because I have all I need, some are poor because they will never have enough, no matter how much money they have.
God provides for all my needs, not necessarily all I “want”.
met a youngish guy who is for Bernie Sanders (he works for a local PC support company and helped me with computer issues)....he cited Bernie’s desire for “free” college....my come back was....”well...you know what anything you get for free is WORTH, dontcha?” He had no response.
That is called cognitive dissonance. Mental condition.
