I sense a Cruz vs. Trump battle forming. But they actually like each other. And I am neutral. If anything I was open to Walker and Jindal as well. I just defend Trump against the Bush elite trying to take him out. Cruz is still my first choice. But Trump I could vote for.
Heck, Trump has said there should be a pathway to citizenship for illegals. But because he’s come out screaming about rapists and criminals (which he was exactly right about, it just wasn’t articulated wonderfully)and building a wall we’re now to just forget all about how he talked about how mean the GOP were to people of color. We’re now to believe without any shred of doubt or skepticism that he’s going to solve the “illegals” problem once and for all?
I’m sorry, but I just won’t be that credulous on that point.
I have listened to Limbaugh since 1984 and
if I had a dollar for every time I’ve heard
that somebody “must have something” on Rush
then I would be on my way to being the next
Trump.
Limbaugh hasn’t been on top for this long
following someone else’s ‘marching orders’.
He personally likes Trump but he is shrewd
enough to refrain from going ‘all in’ for
anyone. When he says his chief mission is to
defeat Democrats he is parroting exactly what
he has always said and done.
Looks to me like Limbaugh is fairly keen on
Cruz who seems to be on rather friendly terms
with Trump. If Cruz and Trump engaged in a
dust up then Limbaugh’s response would be
instructive.
And bear in mind, I am perfectly fine with any liberal beating any other liberal if America is too stupid to vote with me for a conservative. Because f America loses with any liberal victory, its on you, not me. ALL on you."
Excellent.
And the crickets chirp.
I guess I’m a cricket.
CHIRP CHIRP CHIRP.
1: Ted Cruz would govern the best out of the candidates available.
2: Ted Cruz has also allied with Mr. Trump. Or if not allied with, at least apparently has a non-aggression thing going on.
3: If I’m going to support Mr. Cruz’s cause, I’m going to follow his lead, and his lead at this time is pretty much the opposite of what I see you doing on most threads.
Well in all the liberal fawning I can’t remember. Are we supposed to be conservatives or Libs?
If we are conservatives, we vote for conservatives. If we are moderates, anyone is fine as long as we win. So before the lovefest achieves The Rapture, people need to get on a first name basis with that concept. Because if they are moderates, Redstate would suit them better and if they are conservatives they need to get off whatever drugs they;re on and act like it.
None of this is rocket surgery. If one sits there professing conservative values and then backs someone other than the most conservative candidate, while trashing that conservative candidate, they are flat out liars. Whether they like it or not doesn’t change the reality of it and actual believers in conservatism value truth over lies and excuses.
And Frauds are never our best buddies.
Following and supporting a candidate does not mean we have to turn our brain off or buy stock in a ball gag company. Ted has a few things to consider that we are not bound by.
I agree with your number one.
As for two and three, Cruz is playing to win here, and he’s playing a long game. He isn’t Trump’s lapdog. He’s being smart, as is his custom.
As for me? I’m not Cruz and I’m not running for office. This is a political forum where candidates are criticized and praised all day long.
Trump is no different, though some folks think he should be. He’s a liberal Democrat shyster, and I won’t be doing any fawning over him.

You would think. I keep thinking it'll happen and sanity will return. And then I see someone post that Trump should just do a bunch of illegal executive orders like Obama, and I wonder exactly what drug that is, and if it's from another galaxy.

Agreed.
You know, conservatives have waited and hoped for a candidate like Cruz. Remember the apprehension around here while we were waiting to see if he would run? We just weren't sure, but we knew the country needed him.
Then he announced and we celebrated. And then---look over here! A Democrat reality show celebrity! OMG, I'm in love!
Bizarro, man.
Liberals doing what comes naturally to them, that’s all. Charlie Sheen conservatism. Winning!
What they win isn’t really that important. If it was they’d win with a conservative. They just don’t want to. If they put a fraction of the effort into supporting Cruz they do Trump, we would have a conservative president when the returns get tallied. If they actually wanted conservatism, they would work for, not against it.
I like when today they tell us to shut up and right before the election they say, EVERY ELECTION, “You should have sorted all this a year ago and it’s too late we gotta unite because DEMOCRAT SATAN!!!
When do these lobotimites suppose we do that when ‘do not oppose my position supporting liberals is their constant mantra? Do they suppose no one noticed that minor detail from the last 3 elections?
Not one aspect of this theatrical production idiocy makes sense from a conservative standpoint. So it’s just another indicator it isn’t actual conservatives doing it.
Trump has said no such thing. He has come out for 100 percent deportation. His only concession has been an expedited legal process to return people we might want in this country. This is much better than NOT deporting them, and offering them not only legal status, but eventual citizenship, based on the premise that they can't be removed.
But Cruz supports the underhanded way to do it: no deportation of the people here (he wants to "talk" about it), and by dishonestly claiming that we can create a third class of people in the U.S. who have legal status but NO pathway to citizenship.
That's another of the big lies-- that we can give "legal status" but somehow withhold citizenship. It's nonsense and part of the scam.
No, no citizenship, no job, no credit, no welfare, no healthcare, no buying real property if you are here illegally. Do that and all the incentives to come here illegally are gone. In addition if you can’t make a living here you’ll go back to where you came from. In other words they will self deport themselves.
No rewarding criminals period.
Cruz and Carson speak well of Trump and his very conservative policy objectives, ..... Walker is owned ... a GOPe sockpuppet hoping to get the GOPe nod for the big game.
More to the point, he schooled the listeners who think only infrequently about politics and not much at all about the inside-baseball of blue-on-blue hits and "takeouts".
(And the for record I consider the Dems the "RED" party.)
One last point is that there are still a lot of Republicans (Fiorina, Jeb Bush, Linda Graham, others) who are miserably deficient on a number of social issues like abortion and immigration, that I think Rush ought to think twice about saying it before he blurts out that he'll take any Republican over any Democrat. I think there is a lot of merit to the argument from four and eight years ago that we'd be worse off today on key issues if John McCain or Mitt Romney had broken into the White House.
Neither one of them supported Main Street Republicans on Obamacare/Romneycare, 2A, immigration, land-use issues, or black racism.
And nobody has done squat about the IRS, Fast & Furious, and FECgate, even Benghazi.
. . . and that is what Trump probably wishes he had said that the entire audience of the debate thinks. There is no point getting tied up in knots worrying about details of who is least politically correct, when the Democrats are having trouble not nominating Hillary Clinton, of all the unqualified, unprincipled people.
You’ll never accept any answer, no matter how cut and dried it is. For you, Cruz will always be a liar because it gives you reason to support that Democrat celebutard.
This is cultic thinking.
BTW, aren’t you the guy who said he would support Anthony Weiner if he became “suddenly conservative?”
LOL
Pathway to citizenship might be assuming too much... might be.
He DID say to Dana Bash that some of them should be given legalized status because they do jobs Americans don’t want to do. He did NOT leave out the option of citizenship for them one day.
In the midst of a conversation with Bill O’Reilly he all of a sudden said you have to give these illegals a path to succeed in this country.
I remember this interview you are referring to (do not remember the O'Reilly interview). This is in the context of people who have already been deported, but whom we might provide a legal process of return if they are people we might want. He did indeed leave the option open when asked about eventually having a pathway to citizenship, but mostly dismissed it as an idea that he wasn't even considering, and I think he even said "probably not."
More than likely he probably hasn't even thought about it. Considering his working together with Sessions, I look forward to see a full immigration plan which we'll learn more about on Sunday I believe.
