Roughly seven million years ago, our ancestors split off from the apes. Prove it. Evolution Theory is treated more like a religion than religion is.

Okay. It's actually pretty easy to prove this using a bunch of unrelated techniques. One example is to compare the human and chimp genomes and count the numbers of random mutations in otherwise identical strands of DNA. Since they crop up at a more or less constant rate you can get a good estimate on the number of generations since we split off. And it happens to match fossil evidence almost perfectly.

Ok, I’m a science geek so I’ll bite here.

Your proof is evidence of the time frame humans appear in history, and I should have been more clear about this, but still don’t show one day there was a monkey, next day there was a human.
Why couldn’t it be that God created animals, and later humans and that we happen to have similar DNA? Isn’t there very little variance of DNA of all life on earth?
Also how is it Humans have self awareness, and a “soul” that encompasses who we are, and apes have never developed these traits, even after millions of years exposure to humans.
Another question; According to Darwin theory, don’t creatures “evolve” to propagate the DNA, or carry the torch so to speak, and the weaker species they evolved from die off due to natural selection? Why aren’t all apes evolved into humans of some sort?
While I do believe life adapts to it’s environment, and passes those changes to offspring, I just can’t see a wholly different creature happening because of environment.
Also I don’t believe this mystery has been settled by science even though their very brightest atheists have been wanting to find it for 75 years.
What I do see is more scientists agreeing with the fact that science is allowing us to better see the beauty of God’s work.
My belief in God is based in a common sense argument.

As long as Evolution, and Creationism are still theories, I have to go with Creationism, and believe in God.
If I have made the choice to believe in God, and I’m wrong what are the consequences? If I choose to shun God, and believe His word is not the truth, and I’m wrong the end consequences are much worse. An eternity of much worse. Common Sense right?
