Trump: US needs president with Ivy League 'mindset'
The Hill ^ | 08/13/2015 | Mark Hensch

Posted on 08/13/2015 10:22:14 AM PDT by GIdget2004

GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the nation needs a president with an Ivy League education.

“I went to an Ivy League school,” he said on “The Hugh Hewitt Show.” “I was an excellent student at the Wharton School of Finance, which is the best in the world, one of the hardest to get into in the world, maybe the hardest, but maybe one of the hardest to get into, even back then.”

“That’s the kind of thinking our country needs, that mindset,” Trump added. “The fact is, that’s the kind of mindset or thinking we need to beat China on trade. They’re killing us.”

I do not hear what you hear. Trump talks about what he has done to show people that they can do it too. In order to do that he wants to bring prosperity back to America.

Obama talks about himself in order to tell you that you need him and without him you are a total failure. Trump does not imply people are failures. He is the epitome of success . Obama is the incarnation of failure which he proposes to share with everyone. Everything Obama has done is a depressing failure and to him that is success.

Trump is not like that at all.

LOL

Look, Trump is doing it his way. I don’t agree with all his tactics. For a guy raised with money, he sounds a lot like a street person in his mannerisms.

I don’t generally care for that. When he does it, I laugh. It’s an absurdity that I like him, but I do.

It doesn’t bother me that he makes mistakes, or gets pounded on things. I like that he’s willing to make a mistake rather than play the sickening PC games that are destroying our nation.

Everyone makes mistakes. Folks accept Trump for who he is.

I can’t change that, and I wouldn’t want to.

Trump is a career businessman.

BHO is a career politician.

Both have been enormously successful in what they set out to achieve in their respective careers. DT is a muti-billionaire. BHO is now POTUS.

That doesn’t mean I have to like their ideas, policies, positions, and personalities.

I don’t. In both cases.

While I admire DT’s business prowess, I don’t think he’s much of a Republican or much of a conservative for that matter.

Many around here felt EXACTLY the same way about MR btw.

Since the odds are very, very high that we are getting screwed by the Republicans, I see no downside to going with Trump.

It’s a NY thing. We all do it. I think it’s honestly related to the fact that we are always rushing through everything and even in business meetings you oftentimes can only get a phrase or two in. Donald for all his wealth and bluster is a kid from Queens.

Spare me any more ivy league asshole leaders. I’ve had a belly full: Bush, Clinton, Bush II and the worst president in history...Barack Hussein Obama.

No. We need someone with good sense, integrity and moral character.

No more ivy leagers for America!

Buffet is from Omaha of all places. Carl Icahn is Queens. Trump throws him around all the time. He and Icahn go back to theeir airline days and probably earlier.

I really do not know what is happening with Ted Cruz. I do not know who his donors are or how much establishment they are or how much he is indebted to them.

The misinformation is going to be the only way they have to attack the Donald. Clintoons tried that against Obozo, but his camp simply stonewalled. Remember, “I am a clean slate and will be the president you deserve.”

If we owned the press or Republicans were willing to attack anything but themselves, we might get to the issues.

Another lying headline.

I really wish Freepers would research a little more before posting such b.s. because he didn’t say this. The Hill spliced this.

Go to 4:50 minutes.

Not yet. I don’t warm to him. A little bit like Santorum in 2012. It hasn’t anything to do with his positions, it is him. We’ll see. I haven’t ruled him out.

Neither did I, and I think this headline is misleading. He was referring to his education in finances, and nothing else.

He was mentioning the Wharton School of Finance to point out he has the background to understand economics in the context of China etc.
