ORLANDO (CBS Tampa) The Orlando International Airport will soon be opening a Muslim prayer room.
WKMG-TV reports the airport will spend $250,000 to build the Reflection Room where Muslims can pray. The airport decided to build the room after Emirates Airlines announced it will make non-stop flights from Orlando to Dubai.
These rooms provide travelers an opportunity to pray in their own way and have peace before they take on a long flight, Imam Muhammad Musri, president of the Islamic Society of Central Florida, told My News 13.
Many Muslims currently pray in public, and even the bathrooms, at the Orlando airport. Carolyn Fennell, director of public affairs at the airport, says the Reflective Room will give them a much more suitable place to pray.
So they arent having to, if it is the case, kneel on bathroom floors or in corners so they have the reflective time, she told My News 13. . .

This is hosting lessons in safecracking down at the bank...
So, if I pop in while eating my BLT sandwich, is that ok too?
Orlando airport is where, as I recall, a rop slimebag tried to board with a bomb in his baby’s stroller
though sometimes shorter than the official itinerary indicates
Great point!
aka “target”
Bacon grease in the wall paint.
Well, if I’m ever at the Orlando airport I will have to stop and see this room. I’m sure they would welcome the diversity of a Christian in their midst.
Just another camels nose under the tent episode. The camel riders are making sure the animals set the path.
I’m sure tolerant Musllims will welcome Jews, Christians, Buddhists etc.to pray with them.’
Emirates should have built their own prayer room. Imagine the controversy if Christians had asked for a chapel.
This will be a great way to know who to pull aside for the full body cavity routine.
In the real world, this would be a good idea. It would be a place to identify would be suicide hijackers making peace with their god before entering the airplanes. It would also be a good place to identify persons for increased screening - maybe everyone entering.
Lemme guess: right next door to the USO?
Sick what about a place i can go and pray as a christian ?
Anywhere you want. I am a member of the Christian Motorcyclist Association as is my wife and we pray in parking lots, at parks, restaurants, anywhere. Can’t imagine why we would not. If we run into other bikers we engage in conversation as bikers do and if they are inclined we will pray with them.
Actually okay with what the airport is doing. Rather they have a space to pray then walk into a restroom and find one of the floor praying.......
Praying to get through security with a bomb?
Where is the Christian Chapel and the Jewish synagogue? Time for a little class action lawsuit.
Everytime some rookie pilot on a feeder airline tries to land, I consider myself in a prayer room. That last Three Stooges bozo who landed at O’Hare, I thought he was going to flip the plane on its back. Half the passengers on that flight embedded teeth, eyeballs and noses on the back of the seat facing them.
