Here is what I noticed. Just one comment about Bernie Sanders being unable to throw the goon off the stage: "He's weak." Then he said that wouldn't happen to him.

What everyone heard: "I am an alpha male who will lead the pack."

I think those kinds of code words and phrases are resonating like crazy---heard "The Ladies" on Don Lemon as replayed by Rush today. They essentially were saying the same thing.

It's far less the specifics of how he's going to "bring America back" than the sheer confidence that he'll do it. The old, "we're surrounded, outgunned, and outmanned. We have the enemy right where we want 'em. Let's go."

I agree.
I will admit i have not yet watched his press conference from Michigan, but i have watched his speech, twice.

You are picking up on exactly what i have said in previous posts on this and other threads.

Trump is a rhetorical and strategic genius.

He has not said a single word that doesn’t favor his strategy, and wrt his spech not a single word, gesture or tone he did not think out in advance. He would make an unbelievable trial lawyer, but he is so much better than that. I am amazed at his talent. I have never seen better.
