This was a debate which meant a lot to us. Megyn Kelly had a chance for greatness if she could channel her inner Jeane Kirkpatrick or Margaret Thatcher. Instead, she opted to channel her inner Natalie Maines. One unfortunate result, was that later, when Kurtz was interviewing Wallace and Baier, Wallace and Baier enthusiastically backed Kelly 100 per cent.

It reminded me of Family Feud where a family member would give an answer so stupid that everyone would cringe. Nevertheless, the others would say “good answer, good answer.” One of the downsides of political correctness is that stupidity has to be praised. While Wallace is a twit, I still actually felt sorry that competent men like Kurtz and Baier had to defend Kelly.

You can exchange “competent” for “sellout.” Or “hack.” “Job-Scared” works too.
