Trump’s crude gibe fuels calls in GOP for exit, apology
Boston Globe ^ | 8/9/15 | Matt Viser and Annie Linskey

Republicans across the party’s wide political spectrum, increasingly worried about the GOP’s ability to appeal to women voters, pointedly criticized Donald Trump on Saturday for comments that appeared to suggest Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly questioned him forcefully during Thursday’s debate because she was menstruating.

Even in today’s rough and tumble politics, where a premium is placed on extreme language and biting discourse, some saw Trump’s latest rhetorical fusillade as vaulting past tolerable limits, even for a candidate who says he doesn’t have the time or inclination to be politically correct.

Rivals for the Republican presidential nomination and other party figures said he should apologize, or even withdraw from the race.

Erick Erickson, the organizer of a large conservative gathering in Atlanta, canceled Trump’s speaking engagement there on Saturday, bringing about a bitter back and forth with Trump. The only woman running for the party’s nomination, Carly Fiorina, said she stood by Kelly and wrote pointedly on Twitter: “Mr. Trump: There. Is. No Excuse.”

Senator Lindsey Graham was even more forceful, saying that Trump was spreading “hate speech,” and that the very future of conservatism would be at stake if his rhetoric is not forcefully rejected.

When does Miss Linda come up for reelection? I have a feeling Trump money and support will find its way to South Carolina and be put to good use..... Miss Linda must assume he/she will safely be a VP or Jebster cabinet officer by then

Look at the impact Sarah Palin’s PAC has been able to make in political races

Assuming Trump does not become President he could greatly emulate Sarah and use his money and his populism to change the political culture candidate by candidate ..... And maybe buy a cable network to boot

I’ll see if I can find the video. It was in an interview with Don Lemon.

I wonder if Trump would dare to hold a private debate at the same time as the next GOP candidate speed date ?

He could invite real people to debate with him on real issues
Krugmann on the economy ( just to make an a$$ out of him)
A retired JCS chairman on defense
Dr Betsey McCaughey on healthcare
Home Depot founder Ken Langone on business

Etc

He could set up 14 empty chairs for the other candidates

No we don’t. He’s too damn prickly, and you won’t get many of the women vote with the way he talks. He goes too far at times with his insults. You think putting out a tweet about hillary not being able to satisfy her husband, how is she going to satisfy the country, will play well with many women out there? Or what he tweeted to Arianna about her husband? He’s got no filter, and that is a big problem for many.

Sorry, I am not into political correctness, but I don’t want someone who has given money to hillary, who was for single payer healthcare.

Lindsay Graham lecturing about conservatism is like Hillary talking about baking cookies.

“Why should Hilde waste ammo on Trump? The GOPe circular firing squad is doing the nasty deed.”

Has anyone asked her about Iran yet?

Add Huckabee and Kasich. They were interviewed by Stephanopolus. Both when directly asked to criticize Trump refused to do so and added something about understanding voter anger. Even Perry backed off enough to say his criticism was in defense of veterans.

Nobody is asking anybody about Iran!
The media and the GOP are focused on Megyn Kelly’s menstrual cycle

I guess Trump needs to raise it himself

It’s a big problem for the next administration, for sure

This is how the media and Democrats use conservative sensibilities to destroy anyone they find objectionable. It’s pernicious and disgusting.

Man, you guys just love to spin for your candidate. It is pathetic really.

Bottom line, he should have left it alone.

“I ask you to judge me by the enemies I have made.”

Trump’s enemies are basically everyone I despise. At least 99% of them.

Unless I am missing something.

Are you a woman? Because I'm not sure your analysis is accurate. There is a segment of women who are perpetually offended, the femnazis who can't make it as equals to.

A lot of real women like Donald Trump a whole lot more than they like Megyn Kelly and her attitude. Trump seems to be the kind of guy who knows how to treat women and respect their potential.
