At the time of Obama’s birth, I believe his mother would have had to live in the U.S. for 18 years. That was lowered to 5 years in 1986.
Actually, that is incorrect. First, you never lose your citizenship — ever. Second, as long as one of your parents is a citizen a baby born abroad is a citizen. Article two is a totally different discussion . It is not about citizenship. Good try though.
