Something that is starting to grate on me is the incessant gratuitous self-promotion. Don’t get me wrong, I get a kick out of it most of the time, I enjoy his self confidence, in fact I find it appealing. But is it necessary to bring that up in just about every interaction? It starts to seem empty to me.
His rote responses often are composed of:
Statements about how great he is
Use of the words “disaster” “failure” “tremendous” “phenomenal” “huge”
An insult
I hate to say it, but it seems like a repetitive pattern is setting in and a good part of his charm (for me anyway) is his ability to surprise. I suppose that ‘surprise’ is not sustainable but can he replace it with substance?
Lighten up a bit, Donald! Surprise us by not making everything so personal or bypass an insult and offer a solution to something instead.
That serves more than one purpose. I believe Rush explained that strategy at one time.
