A year after Michael Brown's death, Ferguson has changed

FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) -- A year ago, Ferguson, Missouri, was a mostly quiet working-class suburban town. The uneasy relationship between its growing black population and its mostly white police force barely registered in local headlines.

Everything changed on Aug. 9, 2014, when a white police officer named Darren Wilson shot and killed Michael Brown, an unarmed black 18-year-old. The street confrontation on that sultry day launched the "Black Lives Matter" movement.

Nothing has really changed, a few people have been replaced to appease the mobs.

Just a half mile away, the site of a QuikTrip that was looted and torched a night after Brown's death is being transformed. The lot that had been the nexus of protests will become an "empowerment" center destined to offer workforce training and employment placement for underserved youth.

Any bets that it'll become a gathering spot to deal drugs.

Liberalism at it's worst.

They burned and gutted the town, caused the cops to pull back. Crime increased. Bush’s fault.

And the fact that the black lives matter movement was launched based on a lie doesn’t matter to anyone. That whole hands up dont shoot scene never happened, but was spread as the story by activists and a compliant media.

The fact that the policeman wasn’t indicted doesn’t matter to anyone.

The fact that even the sympathetic Eric Holder justice department saw no cause or ability to bring any charges in the case, as a result of their investigation, doesn’t matter to anyone.

Instead, all that matters is the myth that young black men are being shot for no reason. All that matters is the narrative.

Yeah, along with all of North County.

Houses that used to sell for $350,000 are now going for $75,000.

People are walking away from upside-down mortgages to escape.

Not to mention the daily dose of shootings and murders — mostly in North County.

Ferguson has changed, but has it changed in any way for the better?

I heard that a Starbucks is supposed to open there.

But will homeboys be out there buying $5 lattes?? They aren’t exactly the target customer of Starbucks.

Heck, will many homeboys be applying for jobs at that Starbucks?? Will Starbucks hire from that local community??

If they don’t hire locals, I can imagine Sharpton and Jackson complaining if that happens.

And maybe the minimum wage activists will pile on, since those Starbucks jobs tend to be minimum wage type work.

Starbucks is run by a liberal. See if his business smarts such as they are, will enable his company to make a go of it in a depressing place like Ferguson.

Nothing has changed in Fergie. It was going downhill and it has continued to go downhill.

Obama, through his new HUD edicts, now wants every town to be a Ferguson.

Liberalism at it's worst.

Add "Hood Gang Headquarters Central," and it's good to go.

The Obama "Newspeak" is the new normal, now, inducing peals of laughter and the idea of the "underserved youth," meaning, of course, indolent career criminals under the age of 25... who will always serve themselves, and also help themselves to anything that isn't nailed down, and if that is not possible, destroy it.

More confiscated taxpayer (non-government) worker money down the black hole...

Could become a mecca for white hipsters who want to absolve themselves of white guilt.

H/T to our FRiend PROCON for the post.

The one-year mark of the Ferguson Incident is upon us. And at this hour, I have yet to hear anything of any ceremonies, rallies, or any marking by the Left of the date - if anyone else has anything that might indicate, please share it.

We have seen canonization efforts around black martyrs, like Saint Skittles and now the Gentle Giant. How long before we see the Left's version of Horst Wessel?

For thus has the Lord said unto me:
“Go, set a watchman, Let him declare what he sees.”

Full disclosure : that 10-year old "gentle giant" weighed 215 pounds and a career bully at his tender age, and an efficient killer with his bare hands.
