If the post debate polls can be believed, it doesn't appear that Megyn bringing out the long knives for Trump has hurt him even a little. Might have helped him actually.
It would probably be beneficial to Trump's campaign to just let it go lest it start to look like Trump is trying to beat up a girl.

Trump is riding a wave of pent-up frustration and anger from conservative grassroots. Media's blatant attempts to trash him would anger them further, and he will continue to be popular.
