With real estate mogul Donald Trump standing center stage as the frontrunner in Thursday night's GOP presidential debate, the other candidates have a choice to make, 2012 presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty says.
"How do you wrestle a tornado?" the former Republican governor of Minnesota said on CNN Newsroom with Brooke Baldwin of Donald Trump's presence in the race.
Pawlenty said how to deal with "the tornado in the form of Donald Trump" depends on where each candidate is sitting. A Republican doing well in the polls may want to "hunker down," but others trailing who need to make a splash might say, "'maybe I should take him on as a strategy.'"
"That's going to get the sound clip, that's going to get the play, that's going to look tough and strong," Pawlenty said -- with a word of caution. "If you're going to take on Donald Trump, that could boomerang."

How do you solve a problem like the Trumster?,...
Attack him from the right. But the GOPe doesn’t know how.
President Trump is the last chance we have to clean up Oz. He's our "Dorothy".
I’ve forgotten that Tim Pawlenty even existed. He was here for a moment in the summer of 2012, lost one or two primaries, and seemingly quickly, he gave up. Tim never had much of a stage presence anyway, something that is unfortunately, now a requirement to be elected in the states.
They appear to be having difficulty telling their right hand from their left.
Guess obama & the leftists are no longer the enemy but Donald Trump is!
The GOPe does not have the credibility to attack him from the right. The boomerang effect is a real risk; the likely result is being made Trump’s straight man for a zinger.
Probably the best strategy is to try to be the adult in the room, a voice of reason, make your points and keep the fight on your own turf. Do not engage in an attack or counterattack, ignore them and keep on message.
That’s how I would approach it, anyway. Look, if you are in 9th place in the polls, you are not going to win the Presidency tonight. You just need to wake up tomorrow and still be in the race, and watch others fall out. And the reality is, if you are not in the top five already, you aren’t going to be President. Maybe you can get a nice ambassadorship.
I heard say a lot of things, but I didn't hear him say Trump's appeal is that he is not a career politician.
The Conservative Base is sick & tired of being lied to by career politicians.
Tonight, 8 Career Politicians VS 1 Doctor VS 1 Businessman
Why in the heck are they asking TIM PAWLENTY?? The guy could barely make the first poll.
.
I think Mike Huckabee will strike Trump first, looking for some of that badly needed “GOP PAC Donor Money that’s committed to Stop Trump” ...
Unfortunately, Trump is especially focused on Huckabee for this reason ... and will nail the Hucker to the wall ...
Hold my beer !

We are sick & tired of being lied to by Career Politicians.
A year & half, with total control of Congress and the GOPe are still funding Obama policies.
Ask Pecos Bill.
New Broadway musical:
“Your arms too short to box with The Donald”
The realistic question would be: How does the mind of a child deal with a man?
I have a feeling Ian Ziering will be showing us how to do it next year. And it will be full of sharks.
Perfect.
“Probably the best strategy is to try to be the adult in the room, a voice of reason, make your points and keep the fight on your own turf. Do not engage in an attack or counterattack, ignore them and keep on message.”
The ones most likely to do that are the few who actually have credibility as conservatives. They could go on the attack, but I think they have the class and the wisdom not to.
