Emails reveal Lerner considered targeting… Bristol Palin

Well, as long as it wasn’t partisan I guess.

All of those miraculously recovered IRS emails – 1.5 million pages at least – have been under the microscope at the Senate Finance Committee. They released a new preliminary report this week which has more bad news for Lois Lerner and company, including a few eye openers which were highlighted by Orin Hatch. One in particular should really catch the attention of those who, for some reason, still aren’t completely convinced of Ms. Lerner’s unbiased, bipartisan credentials. In it, she indicates that she considered opening an investigation into a charity who employed Bristol Palin as a celebrity spokesperson.

... but not Chelsea ans her $600,000 job?...

Watch for this cretin to step into the family business soon and run for office. I wonder when she has to kill her first person to get her family creds?

Perhaps Chelsea has had abortions. I’m sure that would count!!

I’m Manhattan-born, Long Island raised, but have lived in 3 other states, since 1957).

‘Where on the island? Still have a brother there.’

As do I - he lives in Calverton - as you may know is way out on the island.
I was raised in Huntington from age 3 to about 12. Then Centerport for a year. All these places my parents rented.
Then my dad bought our first house, in Plainview.
Aside from the farmers (Long Island potatoes - anyone remember)??! and dairymen, we were the 3rd family to move in a new development (called tracts here in Ventura County, CA).
We were desperate to move, but there was no electricity hooked up, so somehow the salesman had electricity strung from the model house, down the street to our house! Street wasn’t paved either.
I was bussed, as were others, to Hicksville High School. (Hicksville is named after a man named ‘Hicks’)
Two or three years later, my brother was bussed to Oyster Bay High School, Oyster Bay, as Hicksville High was maxed out due to kids from Levittown, before Levittown had high schools. Mr. Levitt was the builder, going on to then build in Pennsylvania.
Because of the increased population, Hicksville High had freshmen and sophomores attend school from about 1 to 5pm, and juniors and seniors attended from 8am to noon.
Even with this talk of increased population, there was (only) about 160 graduates in my class.
We were the last class to graduate from that campus, as a new Hicksville High School was built just a few blocks away.
Sooooo, the first Hicksville High School became a Junior High, now called Middle School in some regions of the USA.

You now know more about Long Island than you ever asked!!!
OHHHH - one more thing - - singer Billy Joel attended Hicksville High but didn’t actually graduate. The principal awarded him an honory degree. I was not at that ceremony, having moved to MD, NM, and then Calif. about 46 years ago - the week man walked on the moon!!!
My head now hurts from dredging up facts and dates - !!!

PS - - Of course - !!!

When one lives on/in (!) Long Island, when going into Manhattan we/they say: ‘we’re going into the city,’ The LIRR - Long Island Rail Road - is a terrific mode of transportation. People often wait until 9am to use it to miss the commuters.
There is another phrase attached to the LIRR - one has to ‘change at Jamaica.’ I think it has to do with switching engines from steam, or diesel engines to electric, in order to proceed into Manhattan thru a series of tunnels. I remember once sitting on the right going into Manhattan, and for a brief bit of time, one can see the skyline in part of Manhattan (or ‘New York City’)

Our New Mexico-born daughter just got back from 6 days there, treating her first-born daughter to a trip/NY experience for her 16th birthday! They had a ball! Saw and did so much in those days. Including 2 Broadway shows.
Now the 12 year old can’t wait for her 16th birthday and a trip to NY with her mom!

My brother ex detective just retired. He is still in wantaugh. We are from Glen cove. I caddied at piping rock. I did landscaping near Joel’s house.
I had cousins in Syosset. We moved out in 95.
Across the 5 by six flags. Worked in Burbank. Left here in 2001.Chicago. ugh.

Moved back after 7 years.

The Bronx was all farm too. My wife is from there. Ahhh everything left of N.Y. city is farmland.

Wow that brought back memories. I hated that train.
I later moved upstate N.Y. the commute into grand central station was heaven compared to L.I.R.R.

She’s going to be amazed. If they don’t go to the world trade center she must go to the empire state building.

Where is Billy Joel’s house? What town?
Glen Cove - hmmm - that was/is where many live who are ‘well off.’ I drove thru a time or 2 with friends, in the 1950’s. Our school, Hicksville High, probably played Glen Cove in some sports. Come to think of it, I think that’s where I did a cartwheel in the library (warming up to cheer lead - ), whacked my leg on a chair, which hurt like heck, and still have a kind of small ‘dent’ in my leg!
I believe my mother was raised for some years in the Bronx.

I have a brother-in-law in East Meadow (next door to Wantaugh, I think) who is a retired Nassau County cop.
Years ago I remember he used to go home with unclaimed birthday cakes from a bakery on his beat! We sang Happy Birthday to Ralph, or whoever! Have no idea why there were unclaimed cakes!
Syosset - ah yes - - Back in the ‘50’s, about 6 of us (3 guys, 3 girls) at around midnight ‘borrowed’ the pool at a house on large acreage. The house wasn’t that far away from the pool, but we tried to keep quiet - enough - we didn’t get caught! No dogs barked either. We thought we pulled the biggest trespass (no signs tho!) Well, guess we did! Nothing was destroyed in that romp - except some chlorine!
We’ve lived in Ventura County, Calif. for 46 years last month.

Long Island Rail Road - You may hate that train, but we find it provides great transportation. However, I have nothing to compare it to, really, except the Light Rail in Littleton (to Denver), Colorado. That transportation I find to be quite efficient.

Our daughter and her daughter had a ball while in NY. They did everything - well, a lot. Saw 2 Broadway shows, walked all over the place, took the Circle Line, the Subway, went to ground zero, Lincoln Center, Rockefeller Center, Macy’s, and more. Ate meatball sandwiches and a ‘disgusting’ pretzel on the run - didn’t want to sit and ‘waste time.’
Just saw their phone photos last night - fun.
Now the 13 year old can’t wait! And there’s an 8 year old - - - we’ll see.
