This is the winning statement. When they say there is no inflation, or zero level inflation, what they mean is that there is no inflation OVERALL. IOW, although the prices of some things have indeed gone up, they are balanced (in their statistics) by the prices of other things going down.
Whether you think prices are going up or not therefore depends on what things you buy. I personally would argue that there has indeed been significant inflation in the cost of most of the items that most people buy on a regular basis, so as far as most people are concerned, this zero inflation figure does not in any way reflect their actual shopping experience.

Even after all the breakthroughs in fracking technology and a drop in crude prices, gasoline still costs more than it did when that Lazy, Ignorant, Stupid, Mouthy and Arrogant Liar got into Office.
Of what do you know for which the price has declined?

It was wrong then and it is wrong now.
