I’m not into wiccan, paganism, etc. either. Only that the moon has played a significant part in ancient and to-date calendars, hence rituals (ceremonies or religious observations).
Hebrew calendar is lunisolar, same as Chinese & Hindu ones. The mentioned grps have ‘rituals’ according to their lunar phases/months.
Gregorian calendar, which is a civil calendar we now use, was based on reform of Julian calendar.
My other point was that there is no clear correlation between moon phases, behaviour and crime; some studies say there is a change of behaviour and an increase in crime rate, others say there isn’t. Seems to be a few variables involved in those studies that may well convolute matters.
They did a multi-year study of police calls related to the appearance of a Full Moon, and they showed over a 5 year period, from cities all over the world that there was no increase in police calls during those periods.
Scientific, who knows, but anecdotal enough for me not to put any stock in the myth.
As for wicca, I did dabble a little in youth, and have read extensively on most world religions.
I still have some friends who are wiccan. Fine sweet people, who have goodness in their heart, just not Jesus Christ.
Fortunately, I acutely felt God’s absence.
