KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - In the story that is Beada Corum's life, she knows most of it has already been written.
"It's a history book," says Corum. "I raised eight children: four boys and four girls."
At 92-years-old, she should be slowing down. But, don't tell her that.
"I'm busy all of the time," she says.
Corum still makes her daily checklists and crosses them off as she goes. But last week, she crossed off something decades in the making.
This 92-year-old citizen registered to vote for the very first time.
"We got a good country but it's going downhill so fast and we need somebody in there who can straighten it out," says Corum.
In the past, Corum says there hasn't been a candidate she was passionate about. That all changed when she heard one man speak. Corum says she plans to vote for Donald Trump in the 2016 Presidential Election.
"He's got a strong mind and he speaks it out just the way he thinks it ought to be," she says.
Corum is proving you're never too old to make it count.
"I pray that I'll vote for the right person. And, when you pray with all your heart, it won't go void. That's my prayer," she says.
Come now...you know full well this lady knew that voting was important. She just didnt want to be bothered by it, like so many other potential voters.
AMAZING!
You not only mind read HER; but you mind read ME!
Really?
Maybe her life and culture simply never inclined her toward thinking politically.
In fact, I think the first time my own grandmother voted, she was in her late ‘eighties.
You need a little ‘generational context/awareness’ on this.

I AM of here generation. She’s only 12 years older than me.
Although I do like that she’s voting, I ain’t gonna celebrate it. That’s rewarding bad behavior.
Anyone who can vote SHOULD vote. Tell me I’m wrong here.
Come on now. I wasn’t dropped off the turnip truck yesterday.
Lots of people don’t vote because they are downright too lazy to do it. Or just don’t care. Now all the sudden she’s woken up from her ignorant stupor and in come the cheerleaders.
My mother was just like her. But she was the generation before women’s suffrage. One day she complained about how bad things were getting (sometime in the 1970’s). I told her to shut her trap and go vote. Next election she finally did.
LOL! You ARE wrong, because people are different. Some are completely apolitical all of their lives, but nonetheless manage to contribute greatly to their fellows, families and communities. And some are apolitical until for some reason they decide to change.
(You know, I can’t tell if you’re really an ‘ole octogenarian coot’; but you sure do come off as a curmudgeon ;-)

I never said people who don’t vote are not productive nor good people.
I’m saying people who pat themselves on the back for not voting all their lives and then going to then magically vote to “make things right” are self-serving blowhards.
I didn’t see her “patting herself on the back”.
Maybe she just heard Trump talking, and he really SPOKE to her; and she decided that it was time to become active.
According to your philosophy, that’s a good thing, innit?
Jeez Louise!
G’Nite.

Wow.... Nothing like commenting before reading the article. The 92 y.o. is a lady. LOL
I’m not the only person who posts before reading. see post #57.
So; you'll be happier if she does NOT vote?
Of course; you are right in these statements.
You were WRONG when you singled out a SPECIFIC folks to mindread.
When you see some backpatting; let Me and the others in this thread in on it.
We have the media to blame.
They rope us in with inaccurate headlines and titles, and we react to THOSE first.
