Democrats are becoming more and more like the “Britannia” of 1776, with strict rule, large government larger taxes and less voice in government. Though Democrats call themselves liberals, they are quite the opposite of the Classical Liberals that freed us from tyranny. While I agree with Ms Fiorina in principle, it’s not practical to shut down the corrupt federal government since so many low-information voters are now dependent on unconstitutional federal spending programs, “government” spending programs that the states should actually be running.
But note that if the feds still worked within their constitutionally limited powers as the Founding States had intended, then the main thing that a federal government shutdown would mean to most citizens where domestic policy is concerned is a hopefully brief loss of mail delivery services (1.8.7).

When the outrageous Planned Parenthood videos started being released, fear was struck into the hearts of Democrats, Planned Parenthood officials, and the liberal media, because if the public was allowed to see them, it would be the end of Planned Parenthood.
So the media suppressed the videos.
If the Republican candidates want the public to be outraged enough to demand the defunding of Planned Parenthood, they will have to DESCRIBE the videos to the public, quoting word for word, at the debate on Thursday.
Just criticizing what Planned Parenthood has been doing will not be enough.
The last thing Carly Fiorina’s anti-Planned Parenthood statements, as quoted in this article, will do is strike fear into the Democrats, Planned Parenthood’s officials, and the liberal media, as the actual videos did.
To do so, Ms. Fiorina must DESCRIBE the videos so that everyone in the audience is to the greatest extent possible as disgusted and angry as if they were actually watching the videos themselves.
If she manages to do that, the media will attack her like a pack of wolves afterward, she will become the center of attention, and she will be able to keep quoting the videos and increasing the public’s disgust.
But will she, or will any of the other candidates at the debate do that? If not, the whole Planned Parenthood episode will be forgotten in a week, and worse, Planned Parenthood will go on to commit even greater
outrages knowing that all they will have to deal with if discovered are boring criticisms from boring Republicans that will accomplish nothing.
