Looks like one Republican joined the baby-killers:
Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL)
No kidding. This is a joke, kind of like all those votes against gay marriage that the GOP put us through . . . before they were for it.
sigh - not that we are surprised
Mitch McConnell meaningless show vote after refusing to let it be attached to the highway bill.
If only those schmucks mother’s had visited a Planned Parenthood office when they got pregnant with those spawns of Satan, have you ever wondered why it seems that the ones who love abortion the most have themselves, never been aborted
The GOP is so good at the “gee, but we did our best” game.
It’s a very simple argument to me. A unique human life begins at conception. Abortion is opposed to any value for human life.
Agreed.
But let it be known, the Republican Party has the power to put this on the President's desk.
A political vote to make the GOPe look good when they know Dems will vote the other way and look bad.
NO DEFUNDING OF PLANNED PARENTHOOD, NO END TO THE KILLING, JUST AN EMOTIONAL ISSUE KARL ROVE STYLE TO SUCK IN THE RELIGIOUS FOLKS TO SUPPORT THE GOPE IN 2016.
My thoughts also.
Add Mitch McConnell to that list.
And Lindsay Gramnesty as well (he was a no-show for the vote).
(Yes, I have heard the arguments that McConnell did so for a tactical reason so he could bring it up in the future. When he *actually* brings it up in the future, please ping me to that action)
Mitched tanked this. No one else. The GOP leader led the Democrats.
The way to do it is to attach an amendment to an important bill and see what happens, even it means shutting down the government.
Hopefully this will do great damage to Bob Casey when voters find out he’s a party hack despite having his daddy’s name, love to see him out of work.
[Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL)]
KIRK is up for re-election. Pray for a qualified opponent to take him out.
Gotta get rid of Tammy Baldwin.
“Republican Party has the power to put this on the President’s desk.”
That’s bee our problem all along. The Republicans are afraid of speaking the truth.
Many conservative social issue voters still haven’t learned that the GOP is using them and hoisting up these symbolic votes for political gain.
This vote was an opportunity for many Republicans to look good. Special interest groups inside the beltway will use this vote to sucker in religious voters to support GOPe candidates using this vote to falsely portray fakers as “Pro Life” and “Pro Family” and so on.
Its a look good tactical vote by the politicians of a party who see their grassroots fed up with them demanding real and meaningful action on many issues not just social ones.
The political system is failing with an honest and sincere civil disobedience movement looking like a better option than this pretense or faith in some messiah named “Donald”.
