Many newspapers said that Mitt Romney lined his pockets with taxpayer dollars -— while in the course of talking about Bain Capital over ten course of time in 2011 and 2012.
These newspapers (online) said that Romney would build a company when a county would chip in dollars and thus get a deal that other businesses in the area did not receive, and thus to the newspapers he was getting an unfair advantage over other businesses. If that id what some call capitalism, then they are sorely wrong.
It was then labeled corporate welfare.
Oops. Should say the (as in “course of time”) instead of ten.
That may be true, but that was not the gist of “King of Bain” - which was a leftist class warfare ecnomically ignorant attack film.
The large well known company I work for is expanding locally rather than out of state thanks to some state tax breaks. Overall this is a plus for the state and we employees. Our distribution center is out of state thanks to favorable tax advantages.
Ohio and NY have both advertised tax advantages for locating there. This is just the way it’s done. The states wouldn’t offer if it didn’t benefit them in the long run.
