An environmental advocacy group is suing Floridas wildlife-protection commission, demanding a stop to a planned bear hunting season in the fall. Speak Up Wekiva filed the lawsuit Friday in Tallahassee.
They killed Gentle Ben!
How about bear swimming and sunning?
I always wished Gentle Ben would eat Clint Howard.
The next victim of a bear attack in Florida should sue the so called environmental advocacy group. Give those turds some of their own medicine.
A 200 bear limit is very reasonable...
Well good for them. Let the bears live in their house and yard
I live in the panhandle of Florida. We have had several black bear attacks recently on people while they were in their yards. The bear population is growing fast and we see them frequently along roads and in neighborhoods. Florida Wildlife Commission has opened up a hunting season this Fall to try to reduce the numbers a little.
Haven't eaten and B&A/bear yet, but have eaten B&A/deer and B&A/wild hog.
Just for the fun of it, I might mention a couple of weeks ago dined on crab [fresh crab, just a couple of hours out of the sea] for several days with some perch and lingcod thrown in too! Fish just as fresh...catch it and eat it that day, sleep and repeat...
It's nice to go off the grid for a few days every now and then...
Just another activist group with no standing in court.
Any Judge with a pair will toss this as a trivial suit.
Several years ago, Texas passed laws against trivial suits and required the plaintiffs to pay all costs, as best as I recall.
“Several years ago, Texas passed laws against trivial suits and required the plaintiffs to pay all costs, as best as I recall.”
Shoulda put that in the Constitution.
Oh, well, can’t think of everything, I guess.
Lingcod is delicious. Ugly, but delicious

Good idea.
Bears hunting through garbage is an ecological danger and health threat to all the planet.
If the courts can make them stop it will save us all a lot of bullets.
Right on cue.
