Isn't an abortion the same procedure as a D&C? I am not exactly sure what a D&C is useful for. I remember my mom and aunts throwing the term around when I was a kid. I just remember my mother had a litany of gyn issues.

If I recall, my mother had a tubal pregnancy (if I am remembering the term correctly) and they had to perform a D&C.

So, I can understand the the procedure would be part of training if the above is true.
