In Arizona and Nevada we used to sit out in the back yard and view the Milky Way and meteor showers. Here in Oregon the sky is seldom so viewable. Tonight the smoke from several wildfires obstructs any viewing.
Burns, OR, generally has some of the best viewing around, but variable smoke obscuration would be a problem now.
