Europeans have done such a great job of picking national leaders, haven't they? They even thought ObaMao was so great, they awarded him a Nobel Peace prize before he even got a good start on dragging America down to the European level.

Europeans are generally left-wing idiots when it comes to politics. And as to our electoral system being a giant clusterfudge - that's a feature not a bug. The system was designed to be unwieldy in order to prevent mobs, led by demagogic politicians, from running wild.
