Los Angeles bans 10-round firearm magazines
Washington Examiner ^ | 7/29/2015 | Kelly Cohen

The Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to ban the possession of firearm magazines that hold more than 10 rounds.

Mayor Eric Garcetti has already said he would sign the ordinance, which according to the council, will close a loophole in state law already banning the sale and manufacture of such magazines.

Anyone who owns the magazines will have 60 days to remove them from the city or turn them over to the Los Angeles Police Department for destruction, transfer or sale. Supporters of the measure believe it will help law enforcement officials prevent mass shootings in the city.

Figures. I believe when there is a gun control law, playing Devil’s Advocate here, (it is an infringement on our rights but just for sak of discussion) then it should apply to all including the military and police. So they have to turn theirs in too.

Chicago had 532 homicides in 2012. The internet liars who concoct things like this do not help things.

Houston reported 217 for that year, less than half Chicago.

We can also expect Houston to have a higher number of taking out the trash justifiables.

it is an ordinance. it can be challenged a lot easier than an actual law.

You are, of course, right. I didn’t fact check the table, but I still found it funny.

It feels like it was made to fit my Hand.

The Perfect Pistol IMHO.

Still, Houston had less than half that of Chicago.

Baltimurder is much worse than even Chicago. They have nearly as many murders with one fourth the population.

AT GUNPOINT?

Open violation of the Fifth Amendment, apparently supported by the people (sucks to be them they day they can be thrown in jail without due process). And they really expect us to believe they won’t one day try this with firearms all together?

Does the 10-round magazine ban in Los Angeles apply to LAPD as well? Or is that just another special "right" that they possess over the general citizenry?

Elitist scum are running most of our big cities. It's not just limited to California and the Northeast, unfortunately...

Supporters of the measure believe it will help law enforcement officials prevent mass shootings in the city.

No, they don't. They may SAY that, in public, but that's just bullcrap for propaganda purposes. Their actual belief and intent is to disarm the peons, as a first step toward iron-fisted tyranny.

Of course it will, because people intent on mass murder always honor gun control laws!

Supporters of the measure (closet totalitarians) know that the real purpose is to disarm law abiding citizens and render them even more dependent on the State...
