It’s not a filing for a place on the ballot.
Declared candidates for federal office must file notice of their candidacy when they announce or spend more than $5,000. All Grayson missed was the deadline to notify the FEC that he’s running. The clock started when he announced.
The penalty? Probably a warning, maybe a fine of up to a few grand.
This has no bearing on his being on the ballot. The ballot is controlled by the State and the FEC has no jurisdiction.
Story did not mention a Republican candidate for the seat. I wonder if they have decided to not contest it. I have to say, I would not be surprised.
There are several, including the Lt Governor, Rep DeSantis and Rep Dave Jolly.
I would be funny if Grayson switched parties to the Republicans just so that he could run. It’s not out of the question with this compulsive zealot. He wants to recapture the status and the power he had before while in office.
How else could someone like Alan become a ‘big wheel’?
tough crap, its done. its settled law. average citizens dont get deadline exceptions for govt stuff they have to file.
let him sue and piss away money doing so.
I see it as him suing on DNC money to establish precedent so that it becomes a free for all any time rules need to be abandoned. Or more accurately. reinforcing the chaos there now.
David Jolly is a RINO scum and when he was first elected he was masquerading as a tea party conservative.
He isnt a real darling of the dnc. May not work out quitelike that.
He’s useable for a purpose. It’s the Democrat way.
Maybe he’s decided to run for president instead.
There’s a chill up your spine...
I read on FR that his girlfriend (a Dr. IIRC) filed recently to run for his House seat. It would be kind of funny if he wasn’t allowed to run for Senate and she ran for his House seat. That said, I’m sure they’ll “fix” this “error” and he will run for Senate. I find him disgusting - couldn’t imagine being his girlfriend.
FL people hardly ever pick anyone good.
