Writing on his blog, Mr Tytelman said that the photos of the wreckage had aroused significant interest on the AvGeek website – a closed forum for pilots.

Hate to rain on the parade, but what is the part number? Without that we don’t have any Schlitz.

It’s looking like the pilot-hijacker was trying to take it to his favorite dunghole somewhere in Africa.

A reference is also indicated on the debris: BB670. This code corresponds to the registration of an aircraft, or the serial number of a device. On the other hand, if this flaperon belongs to the MH370, it is clear that this reference will allow to identify rapidly. In a few days, we will have a definitive answer.

Well, there goes my pet UFO theory.

(I know I should not make fun of such a tragedy but the mystery is compelling).

Prayers for all the families — maybe this will lead to removal of the first level of uncertainty (where is it?). The second level of uncertainty (what happened?) may never be known.

Last year, CNN was so desperate that they even asked UFO researchers to come and be interviewed for their take on it.

Anyway, CNN is reporting it live right now...

I doubt this will help them find the wreckage, let alone data recorders; but it does eliminate the Asian landing scenario.

16 months of drifting.

AP BIG STORY REPORTS THUSLY:

Air safety investigators have a "high degree of confidence" that a photo of aircraft debris found in the Indian Ocean is of a wing component unique to the Boeing 777, the same model as the Malaysia Airlines plane that disappeared last year, a U.S. official said Wednesday.

those parts are serialized and have a pedigree back to the parent unit... should take ten seconds to search the FTN numbers...

I’m wondering how far from the impact this piece drifted, if it is in fact part of MH370.

If you are correct then we have a bingo bango, most airplanes do not tend to toss around their own identifiable pieces here are there in a random pattern. But most reports that I have seen do not establish to traceability to the missing aircraft. That connection may be coming.

” but it does eliminate the Asian landing scenario.”

Conspiracies die hard ... it was a manufactured fake to throw us off the real story.

There goes the “terrorists landed it on a remote airstrip, killed all the passengers and are gonna use it for another 9-11” theory.

1300 or so triple 7s built to date, so I assume there aren’t a lot of these parts randomly laying around?
