People hunt open meadows because that’s where their primary animal’s food source is, it lures them out of the brush. People hunt corn and bean field because it lures the deer out of the wood’s. We hunt over water and grain field’s because that’s what lures waterfowl in. People hunt area’s that lure animal’s to them and have done it for centuries. As far as this cat goes I’d like to see the evidence that they lured him off, most likely he wandered off following the smell of bait hanging in a tree, a standard method for hunting big cat’s in Africa. As for the collar I’m not sure he saw it since the cat was shot at night or the mane may have covered it. they spent 40 hours trying to recover this animal which tell me allot when many would have given up after a few hour’s. Add in that they contacted the authorities and told them what took place. An unfortunate incident maybe but a criminal act?

Your post makes sense, therefore you are insensitive.

Of course the guy paid for a hunt. He was told, hey, there’s your shot. He took the shot. They made sure it was tracked and found.

“...they spent 40 hours trying to recover this animal which tell me allot when many would have given up after a few hour’s.”

Does he get the $55,000 back if they couldn’t find the lion after he stuck it? Or does he get to try to kill another one? Because if not, I can’t imagine many would have given up if the lion was worth $55,000 them in the first place.
