Boehner & McConnell voting for mass murderer by Planned Parenthood and Iranian genocide.
Hey Rush...why don’t you remind us again how a third party is a bad thing!
Yep, Cruz needs to stand up and jab a bony finger in their direction, pointing out their corrupt complicity.
I’ve tried the third party stratagem.
I’ve tried a modified third party stratagem, that consisted of running principled candidates in GOP primaries.
The latter has worked to some small degree.
But what we really lack, no matter the strategy, is a conservative electorate who will actually enforce a principled core of non-negotiables.
That's only to save face and blame Obumer. They know they can't win doing it that way.
Could not have said it any better than you. I made it a point to vote against Cornyn the last time we voted for Senators here in Texas. He looks the quintessential conservative but he, like so many of his constituents, lacks the "man parts" when push comes to shove. Gee, I wish I had a job where I was my own boss, just like these "representatives" of the people they are sworn to serve. Just like one guy posted on Breitbart's site, "these senile old bastards continue to run the economy into the ground."
They are a sleazy bunch, GOPe.
Care to expound upon modified third party stratagem that has worked to some degree?
Such is a lot easier to do at a relatively local level, but once the ad costs begin to climb, I would think such modified third party stratagem would begin to have tough sledding.
Whether we like it or not, this Country was established with a strong two party system. They had different names before, but it was basically the same two parties (and was twice as good as the Brit single party system of the time).
The problem with modified third party stratagem is not votes, its collecting adequate contributions. In a country this size, getting one’s message out better than the competitor is everything and is costly.
I would love to read this article without seeing “snap you have to reload” every five seconds. I don’t know why Breitbart’s website glitches so much.
Anyway, to me this is rock solid proof that conservatives must leave the Grand Ol’Party and start their own. There is no reforming them. How many years have we been saying they left us? It’s time to form a conservative party. There’s too much stench and corruption in the GOP.
Start from scratch.
>They are a sleazy bunch, GOPe<
Correction. The GOP.
The ones who are decent need to get out and form a new party.
The founders won our independence from Great Britain using only hand-written letters delivered by men on horseback, and crudely printed broadsides, or, as we call them, flyers.
We have instant personal communications, of all sorts. Most of it free, or very inexpensive.
We have more than enough resources to communicate with each other enough to win elections.
We don’t lack the ability. All we lack is the will.
We already did the start from scratch thing. Started seven years ago. We have much of what is needed already in place. All we lack is numbers and modest resources.
Nobody in their right mind supports Bush. I can’t imagine any reason to support Bush unless it has to do with cronyism.
Well, I sat out Cornball on November 4, 2014, along with George P.; see what good it did.
That and a lot of people still will not let go of the GOP. They still believe, against all evidence to the contrary, that we can still change it from within. Then you have the big 3 in conservative talk saying the same thing, and people blindly follow. People have GOT to open their eyes. It is too corrupt.
Can you imagine the ground swell, the excitement, that would generate in the conservatives in America if Ted Cruz, Jeff Sessions, Mike Lee, Trump, you get the idea, held a press conference and announced a new party? No more R behind their names? I think it would be huge.
But then, maybe I’m having a moment of wishful thinking and I’ll come back to my usual it will take a total reset. We’ll see.
Interesting. Under Robert’s Rules, a call for Division of the Assembly doesn’t even require a second and is automatically granted. It would at least have gotten a vote requiring members to stand, even though the Chair determines the outcome.
I wonder why that wasn’t done in this case. Perhaps those wonderful “Senate rules” again.
Here’ my prediction right after Iran deal was announced.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3311689/posts?page=44#44
“The truth is theres just too much money to be made by the political class on any deal even if its a bad deal.
Prediction: This will sail through congress and many campaign coffers will be filled to overflowing.”
No, what is lacking is honor, closeness and sincerity.
No one in their right mind believes 90% of the things transmitted on the internet or IM. Its just too easy to either be invisible to responsibility or be cloaked for who we actually are. That all might be entertaining, but it is not even close to the real communication of ideas and ideals that existed between the Founders.
You’re speaking of content, both in terms of the content of the communications, and the content of the communicators’ characters.
All I was referencing in the post you replied to were communication means and methods, and the will to use them.
Both our conjectures are correct. Mine compliments yours.
