Lawmakers on Tuesday criticized the military for a yearslong pattern of complacency with biological threats as Defense Department admitted to shipping live anthrax to nearly 200 labs worldwide.
Rep. Tim Murphy, Pennsylvania Republican, took aim at Utahs Dugway Proving Ground, which mistakenly distributed live anthrax, for using a potentially deadly process for more than a decade without anyone noticing the problems.

Our country is loaded with incompetents, if not that, they are deliberate and evil people.
Hype, IMO. It wouldn’t cause an outbreak. It doesn’t work that way.
The dose of radiation needed to kill anthrax spores was determined about 50 years ago so there is no excuse for not killing the samples. Likewise it is extraordinarily easy to determine if the sample is killed. Simply put it in a nutrient medium and see if it turns cloudy. This is pure negligence.
